We had Sunday lunch here today and I have to say it was probably the best roast we’ve ever had out. Whilst my partner loves a roast, I’m not normally a fan and had planned to have something different. However, on seeing someone else’s plate, I decided to go for the roast and very glad I did. Properly cooked veg - what a joy instead of the usual dish of hard tasteless microwaved carrots, broccoli and French beans that so many places dish up! I’ve visited many times with friends. On this occasion it was with family. My brother-in-law and I had the ‘Lot burger’. These days pub burgers can be hit n miss. Fortunately the Halt burgers are top notch , multifaceted and the tastiest I’ve had in a long time. Their food is consistent, reliable but most of all delicious and the staff are genuinely helpful and friendly. The Halt is the only pub that comes to mind that still serves custard with pud.
