We booked the mulberry tree for Christmas Day after leaving it too late to book the more expensive pub across the road.I wasn’t expecting anything amazing today but the food was REALLY good, especially the roast potatoes and they managed to make turkey taste nice too!I’d give the food 9/10 but the service a 5/10.We waited at least 45 mins for our dessert and I stood at the bar for at least 15 mins before I was served - and no one was in the queue except me. We also waited 15 mins for our pre-booked table.I overheard staff tell a customer who complained that they were short staffed due to people going off sick with Covid. It would be a good idea to make customers aware of this when they arrive. The baileys cocktails are delicious - I’d have had more than one if I hadn’t been driving. Great to see lots of alcohol free options on the menu too. This was my first visit to the Mulberry Tree and I will return.

Love it go here for breakfast at least once a month lovely food lovely staff. And kids eat for free all you can eat and it cost less then £10 per adult. Can’t wait to try lunch and

Food was OK. Obviously microwaved. Lady serving at the bar was rude. Everyone else lovely. Couldn't be more helpful.Vegetarian options: Vegetarian options were not great

A family friendly restaurant and the service was fantastic. My only complaint is that the roast potatoes that came with their festive turkey dinner looked and tasted like the frozen ones you buy in the supermarket.

We have just had Christmas dinner at Brewers Fayre in Braintree and I must say this year the service has been extremely poor. We had to wait 30 minutes for our drinks and ended up having starters before the drinks arrived. After having starters the main course consisted of cold and soggy roast potatoes. Brussel sprouts were also very hard. We then had to wait almost an hour for the desert and they tried to overcharge for our drinks. All together we were there for 2.5 hours. Overall a very disappointed.

Wow, we expected ok but we got fantastic! Can’t fault a thing for our entire lunch. We had Boxing Day lunch and thought well it will be fine but weren’t expecting too much. The staff were wonderful and the food was all delicious, every part was just great. Thank you so much for catering for our family on Boxing Day, we will be returning for sure. Please could the management pass on our thanks to all staff xx

Nice food reasonably priced, typical pub style. Had to go back to get the desserts as they were forgotten. You're left to it style of running. Soft play to keep the kids busy one end of the restaurant whilst the parents enjoy a pint. Nice way to keep them happy.Kid-friendliness: Soft play for the kids! Great to keep them entertained and burn off some energy while the parents enjoy a pint!

The Mulberry Tree is the perfect spot for a Family get-together at Christmas. 24 of us ranging from 2 months right through to doting Grandparents converged on the restaurant to be greeted by a beautifully dressed table with poppers and crackers and attentive, helpful staff. We sat adjacent to the indoor play area so the youngsters were free to go and play at whim meaning the adults could catch up in a relaxed way. Fab food and loads of it.. and the endlessly refillable drinks are an economic way to keep the family satisfied. We had a relaxed and very affordable, friendly afternoon... Perfect! What a wonderful start to the Festive season... Well done Sam and staff.

Food is reasonable value and was served hot. Kids meals are a decent size for an older child. Soft play area would benefit from some investment but it gives the kids something to do and a safe place to burn off some of their never ending energy. Very good with allergies. Sometimes the queue to order is pretty long with only two tills but staff are friendly and professional. Unlimited soft drink refills and an accessible water and ice machine are a bonus, especially when the kids are getting hot playing, either indoors or in the outside area in better weather. Perfect for families.Dietary restrictions: Very good with allergies and chips have their own fryer for gf customers.Parking: Spaces are a little narrow for a larger car but usually plenty available.Kid-friendliness: Perfect for families with both indoor and outdoor play areas.

The food and service I could not fault. Friendly happy to help staff , food was fast, hot and tasty pleasantly surprised the only thing you would mark down on was the decor is a little tired and warn but it was clean and tidy.

Asked for a table near the soft play for my 3 yr olds birthday, was told fully booked on entry. 1 table occupied out of 11/12 tables and when they left and it was cleared the rest stayed empty. I spent most of my time watching my daughter sitting at the empty tables that were ‘fully booked’. This was quite clearly just so the team didn’t have to walk as far and they could keep areas clean. I don’t get to see the family I was meant to spend some time with as they don’t live local, I spent all my time at an empty table we could have sat at as a family! The food was ok but the check back was late, we had all practically finished our mains. It all felt like the team were uninterested in customer service and actually helping you enjoy your experience. It seemed all about saving time and distance at the detriment of the customer. As a manger in hospitality I was disappointed in the service. My expectations of a base line level of customer service for any food outlet sadly was not met and I don’t expect silver service from a pub.
