Eating in pubs is never my first choice but I visited the Black Horse twice in 10 days. The food is truly excellent! Not the cheapest but you really get what you pay for so a big pat on the back for the kitchen staff - big flavours, perfect portion sizes and 5 star presentation (especially the desserts). Also, the staff are lovely and attentive without being intrusive. For our second visit we were awarded with a 30% discount - four courses and two drinks came to just over £40! I would go out of my way to eat here anytime so well done Vintage Inns for classy & highly recommended gem ? ?

Came here with a party of 6 adults and 4 children for a Sunday roast. It was excellent. Really busy but the staff were great as was the food. good portions with bowls of veg and extra potatoes for the table as well as gravy. Meat was really good quality, especially the pork belly which is easy to get wrong.Have had a few pretty disappointing roasts recently, albeit a bit closer to central to London, but the Blackhorse was great! Well worth travelling out for!

Havn't been for 11 years but as a former local person, I found the bar service is still very good even though I just had a wrap and drinks, I used to collect my Grandfather from what was the old public bar which was very small then some 63 years ago when I was 13 or 14 years old to go home for the family meal. Happy days

We were a party of 6 and we all had the Mother’s Day menu. Everyone enjoyed their meal . The sirloin of beef roast dinner was delicious, and highly recommended. Good friendly service every time you visit. Good price for great food.Parking: Adequate free parking

Eat at the Black Horse quite regularly. Had lunch today and as always a pleasant experience. Our waitress Hayley is as usual such a pleasure. Very helpful and always welcoming

Met some friends here after looking for a central location, having not been in this area or local pubs for food we settled here. We weren’t disappointed, excellent food choices and great value for money. Staff friendly and attentive. We booked a table for 1:30 on a Saturday and glad we did, it was really busy considering its January. I’d definitely return.

Having visited The Black Horse on a number of occasions it occurred to me how poor the food is . We ordered a variety of dishes for the children and was extremely disappointed how poor the Pepperoni Pizza was especially at a price of nearly £16. It literally had the thinnest topping I’ve seen with approximately 6-8 thin slices of pepperoni . It would really have made an Iceland £4 Pizza look gourmet quality. The burgers too are really poor quality. To be fair the serving staff are doing their best although very busy.
