Staff attentive. Not very busy inside for a Friday night, outside was fairly busy with people drinking.Food came up slightly burnt and not the best I've eaten.

Went for lunch. Menu was different to what was online. When we asked the waiter said it has changed today. I ordered the chicken , bacon and leek pie. £18.50 so not cheap. Asked what it came with and was told potatoes and vegetables. It arrived with mashed potato and 3 small pieces of broccolli. The mashed potato had so much salt in it i couldnt eat it. Mentioned it and was brought another portion which was just as salty. Also mentioned to the waiter that the chicken, bacon and leek pie was missing the bacon and the leek. Was told that it was braised and slow cooked so the bacon and leeks had broken down. ( and disappeared) This would not happen. The chicken hadnt!!! Complete lies. There was no apologies and to be honest they couldnt have been any less interested if they had tried. My friend and i would not be going back and would definately not recommend anyone to go there.

Really nice food, I had the steak burger and wife had fish and chips. The haddock was fantastic, proper size, burger was great. Kids had burgers and chips. A couple of criticisms though, my kids are very young so there's no need for the chef to put loads of salt on the chips. There is an area that I had assumed was a play area for kids as it had toys, paper and pens so of course my kids seen this, I thought it would be good entertainment for them but was thrown out by the staff as it was private and only for the owners children. I do find this quite very odd.

We were out and about and were looking for a cheap and cheerful pub lunch......We failed, instead we found this place, absolutely amazing quality food for a reasonable price. Staff were nice too!

The food was really slow to come out and no explanation or member of staff told us how long it would be etc. it took for a member of our party to ask how much longer would have to wait. When the food arrived, it was fine. Nothing out of the ordinary or to shout about, in fact the pasta was a bit mushy. And for the price of the meal it just isn’t really acceptable. I think the food is very overpriced for what it is. I didn’t come away with the best experience.

Two recent and consistent visits. Well spaced tables. Delicious cod and chips, not forgetting the peach and apple crumble. A mid week delight.

First visit since covid, ambience changed. It is now a restaurant not a pub. Service and food very good. The lunch menu very good value, will visit again when in the area.

I had pil pil prawns to start. They (5 small) horrible tasting small prawns were of such poor quality. And they cost an eye watering £11.50. The service was painfully slow. 2 servers for the whole restaurant. I then had the 10 oz steak which was average. The steak looked like it had been bought from Tesco for about £ 3.00. Very average. For 8 of us, with no dessert and 4 of the 8 not drinking alcohol the cost was nearly £ 500. For just a touch more on cost but many times better service, quality and ambience we could have gone to Smith’s or Alec’s. We will not be rushing back.
