Booked for wife's birthday. Starter's the calamari was hard as bullets. Main course tomato linguine, just tomato sauce out of a bottle with over cooked pasta thrown on top.Would not recommend the gammon. All around a bad experience.

Lovely dog friendly pub. Very cosy now the new owners have revamped. Will definitely visit again. I have given a 4* not a 5* as the food wasn't exceptional and worthy of a 5*. The knickerbocker glory was thrown together and didn't really have anything special. No fruit, no mouse, no cream. It was just ice cream with some fruit sauce. The roast was nice, but the chicken portion was tiny and you didn't get many roast potatoes. i was given 2 small potato halfs.

Having read other reviews we were keen to try this restaurant.The menu provided a wide variety of choices. All of our party chose a roast dinner, which we could not fault. The portions were generous. The food arrived at the table hot and was obviously fresh.The restaurant was not full, but we found the atmosphere to be calm and relaxing.The reason I have not given a full five stars is because one of the staff seemed miserable and uninterested, even though we tried to engage with her. The other staff who came to our table were professional and engaged well.We have not been put off from visiting again, and indeed made another booking prior to leaving.

Sunday roast was excellent, very good value. Service was very good.Atmosphere was spoilt by parents letting their small children, run around the other diners, and not taking any notice.
