We went for valentine's day dinner and the food was delicious. Lots of effort had gone into the decor and it was a warm welcome. Price was very reasonable and it is easy to get to with loads of parking. We will be going back soon.

Turnt up thinking it all looked really nice.Waitress came over to take our food and drinks orders - didn’t have a clue what beer on tap there was. Then took our food order and had no clue or the menu either. We ordered a burger with no tomatoe. Food then came out and had tomatoe in, we told the waitress we ordered no tomatoe so she took it back to kitchen 4 seconds later the same burger came back out… terrible how they think they can just change the bun and Chuck out the tomatoe and it be okay. Good job I want allergic ay!Never again. Outside of the building look lovely. Inside looks like a community hall, nothing special at all.

Visited the Swallowtail for Sunday lunch. At first glance you might think the menu was basic pub grub but it was fabulously delicious. We tried 2 of the sharing platters, chicken and fish and we ate almost every last crumb. Staff very friendly and service swift and attentive. Prices very reasonable too. Would definitely return and can recommend.

Had lunch at the Swallowtail with my partner and elderly mother. The view from the restaurant was lovely, looking out onto the yacht club and river Crouch. The staff were very friendly and extremely efficient. The food was fabulous. We had great starters and plumped for the sharing platters between the 3 of us (fisherman's platter and mixed chicken platter) the food was hot, fresh and very tasty. And although we all have great appetites we had more than enough delicious food. We did manage fabulous deserts. My mother is not too good on her feet but this was no problem as there is a lift to the first floor restaurant. We will return to try more of the menu and are happy to recommend

Amazing lunch with my husband and two dogs. I had a bacon brue & cranberry baguette from the light menu and it was huge. The chicken burger was Massive. Great service. Dog friendly. Good value. We will return.

We only had a coffee each, but it was really good. Served with a hot, proper cup and saucer and a little biscuit on the side. We are planning a return trip for with weekend breakfast or lunch

This location is stunning! Beautiful views across the river, nice balcony to sit on with a sun shade, clean and comfortable with plenty of parking. BUT they do not adhere to their advertised opening hours. We have visited three times over the last two years. On each visit, the restaurant/bar is either closed, or closes earlier than advertised - it's as though the staff are desperate to leave the premises. This makes planning really difficult! So don't rely on them being open, even if they advertise that they are!

Had a fantastic evening at our friends anniversary party. The venue was brilliant, a wide variety of drinks at very reasonable prices, the staff were friendly and helpful and the buffet was absolutely superb - homemade and incredibly tasty. Would definitely recommend The Swallowtail if you're looking for a great venue to celebrate a milestone event.
