Everything was first class. The staff were very helpful and informative. Clean and tidy. Will go again.

Always a lovely welcome by the lady seating you. Another lovely roast had by 3 of us. We just thought it was a little skimpy on the veg for 2 (my no.meat veg comes already on my plate). Service was a little slower than on previous visits , and there was alot of uncleared tables which was very unusual. One odd fact, no mints left for us at the end but 4 coffee biscuits? Will always return as for me it's the best roast I ever get to eat.

We’ve been here regularly over the last few years but haven’t been for a few months as it’s often fully booked online. We came for Sunday lunch. Service was as good as normal. I had the roast chicken which was huge. My only complaint was the roast potatoes, still in their skins, still quite tasty but not as good as a roast IMO and more so when you avoid carbs for most of the week! Vegetables were over but very tasty so didn’t mind. Everything else was delicious. My husband had the skate with shrimp and caper butter, again huge. He really enjoyed it but found it too buttery after a while as the butter wasn’t browned, fish was cooked perfectly though. Desserts again really good but perhaps too much fruit in the crumble tart to my taste and the chocolate mousse was more like ganache so a little too rich for that size. I think the pricing has changed so you need to have a minimum of 2 courses which was a struggle for us given portion sizes. People have said it’s expensive but would disagree, it’s in the same price bracket as similar local restaurants and given the portions a relative bargain. Perhaps a smaller roast option could be offered though as I’m not sure I made it halfway through! Has the pie of the day also disappeared? ? It’s a lovely location and dog friendly. We’d love to have this place on our doorstep rather than a 15 minutes drive as we’d be in there all the time!

This place is a lovely location, it was a warm evening so we sat outside, which was very pleasant. There seemed a bit of a lack of staff with just a couple of people running a very busy garden, maybe because the weather was unexpected. There was also no enforcement of people having to vape or smoke in the designated area, so unpleasantly had to breathe in lots of fumes all evening. Onto the food - the starter I had of burrata was very pleasant, although very over-seasoned, not sure why there's a need to put sea salt all over a ball of cheese. For our mains, myself and my partner both ordered steak, both came out overcooked, he ate his anyway but as I was paying over £30 for a steak, I sent it back as I wouldn't enjoy it that way at all. I was told that it would be a 15 min wait for a replacement - a long time to cook a rare steak and my partner totally finished his meal before my new one came out. Again the steak. The chips and the side of brocoli were all very salty but I did really like the chunky and crispy chips that came with it. We weren't asked if we wanted sauces we had to struggle to get someone else's attention for them. The waiter did take off one of the starters for the inconvenience of my steak not being right but the meal was still £100 for two people with only one alcoholic drink, which is a lot for a meal that was pleasant but not wow. Overall I'd go again but probably only on a discount night or if invited by others. It has great potential but just left me feeling a little lacking

Great dog friendly place with fantastic outside space. Food is lovely too. Staff are a bit hit and miss since previous manager moved on but hospitality is hard at the moment for recruitment. The best ice cream I’ve had!

Went as part of my wifes birthday for Lunch. As usual, very good service, good food and lovely surroundings. Very nice touch when 2 of the ladies sang Happy Birthay when they bought out the dessert. Thank you.

Had a Dinner for 5 Family members and the food was excellent as usual. The staff are very good and there was no waiting around to be served with the food and drinks.

Starter portions are very small for the price, but they were tasty. Main courses were good but sides were also expensive for what they were. Dessert options fairly limited. By 9pm the restaurant was almost empty and we felt embarrassed having to wait for our pre-booked taxi as it seemed like they were closing. Service was good and the staff were friendly.

First visit here and it was lovely, ? recommend the roast beef on a Sunday! Very warm and friendly atmosphere, we took our dog and the staff made a fuss of her, she had sausages and dog treats. Will definitely come back again!
