I used to frequent the Railway Tavern from 98 to 2001 when I moved away. It is still as lovely as it always was. Great selection of beers, proper fire and the atmosphere is terrific. A proper pub and the best in Brightlingsea.

Very nice, comfortable, friendly, big screen which had World Cup match on, no music playing at the time which was good for talking to eachother, looks like good seating outside for the summer. Will go again, enjoyed it there.

Excellent pub now, well worth a visit!! It's gone from being a squalid dark "local only" pub to a bright, inviting and welcoming pub with lots of interesting offerings from local ales to a great seiection of obscure gins and cocktails with a nice beer garden for all weathers!
