Fantastic pub, my favourite in Colchester. Friendly, very fair prices, excellent beer, ciders, wine and even some local spirits.

Recently started coming to the Victoria Inn more regularly, having previously popped in very occasionally for a quick pint. This place is my new ‘local’.Reasonably priced drinks with a friendly relaxed, atmosphere. There’s a great choice of beers and cider, definitely something for everyone. They even offer a loyalty card.

Best pub in town. Staff are welcoming and seriously knowledgeable about there beer, the beer selection is always brilliant. Has a really nice cosy feel to it and best of all dogs are welcome. Highly recommend.

Visited here on a chilly November evening for drinks! The space was warmed by the open fire. Service was excellent. Will definitely return.

A Good Local Pub serving high quality locally sourced beers!

This is a town pub on North Hill. It's got a reasonable beer garden, including a covered area with some seats. Service was pretty good, beer was OK with an OK choice. Atmosphere is somewhat lacking - feeling like a local pub for locals rather than somewhere to meet up with friends and have a drink.

great traditional pubs with cask ales and a great selection of craft and Belgian beers. you can bring your own takeaway, and they also put on many special events.

Sean W needs to get a grip and ought to stop being so ageist. What a weird review.

This is a complicated one to score to be fair. Upon a quick stop off in Colchester near the station, I was attracted to The Magnet but it didn’t open until much later.First impressions of The Victoria weren’t too bad with a friendly young bar lass and a decent selection of unusual lagers and plenty of ales.Upon further inspection the yellow jumpered old boys from the ‘Victoria Inn old gits club’ sent alarm bells ringing. Given they made up most of the clientele and were just a bit hostile to anyone who wasn’t part of the ‘club’ it felt like boomer central and one to drink up and leave. It’s a shame really as the pub has potential and these guys haven’t got that long left, so should embrace any new blood to keep the place going once they pass. The young bar girl was nice though and I’m not sure why she bothers! That justifies the extra star as two would normally suffice for such a place, despite the good selection of beer which was all quite reasonably priced. Once the old boys have gone I’m sure it’d be great. Luckily I don’t need to hurry back to the area!

Good atmosphere and very friendly. Reasonably priced. They don't do TV or food here, which is a plus. There are plenty of takeaways nearby if one is that desperate.

Proper pub. Good selection of ales and ciders. Nice courtyard out the back! Friendly staff. Interesting mix of punters.

Proper pub. One star docked for their posh crisps nonsense. More wasabi peas, please.
