My parents have been a customer of the New Hong Kong for the best part of 50 years and I always make a point of using them when I visit Loughton. There seems to be a good reason for the phone being engaged often when you phone in an order because everyone wants the best Chinese food in Loughton. Cash only. Not a problem. Cash is King.

Lippitts Hill, Waltham Abbey, LoughtonOverall a nice pub and friendly staff. Good is standard pub fare. Oddly the veranda is nicer than the main pub which internally could do with a returb. Good choice if in the area although probably not worth travelling there just for the pub.

15 Baldwin's Hill, LoughtonAccidentally visited the same day as the pub quiz, and decided to join in. Never been much of a quiz fan but the host showed me what a proper pub quiz should be like. They were interactive with the audience, dynamic, naturally funny and personable. I have never enjoyed my own failure before and now go to every pub quiz they offer. Amazing

I ordered the pistachio and salted caramel frappe with whipped cream on top. It was sweet enough for me so asked for a bit more syrup and they did. Very nice.

2 Station Rd, LoughtonNot sure of her name as no name badge, has a obvious physical disability but besides the point. She was amazing from the moment we walked in, she immediately seated us and throughout our time eating she checked on us 3 times clearing any empty plates making it a great experience, was always looking around for things to do/tables to check up on and was so well mannered??
