Lots of reviews mention it but this is one of the friendliest pubs I’ve ever been to. Went on a Friday and had very reasonably priced food. Beer well kept too. Cash only so like going back to the 80’s (but in a good way)
What a fantastic pub! We've just moved into the village and, on our first visit to the pub, we received a very warm welcome from the locals and the landlord, Paul.Everyone is very friendly and the bar staff deliver excellent service with a smile.There is a good selection of well-kept ales and the Friday lunchtime food is also good. Stopped for lunch on a Friday after a walk around Tollesbury Wick. Friendly atmosphere with plenty of locals chatting. Seems many had pre ordered from the short menu so down to only two choices. However it was good food and drink. Note it was cash only. After 2 years of being encouraged to use contactless payment I rarely have cash but fortunately had enough to cover the cost.
