Went here specifically because they advertise they cater for gluten free diet. My daughter can't eat wheat, So thought we'd try it out, was a hour drive for us so was a bit of a gamble, but it well and truly paid off!Atmosphere was very welcoming, service was attentive, food was superb, my daughter loved her gf free bagel cream cheese and salmon, orange and almond cake and bubble tea which she had never had before. The cheese Pastrami ciabatta was out of this world. Good coffee too. Monster Victoria sponge my wife loved. All in all I give this place 10 out of 10.Will definitely be black!!!!Many thanksDietary restrictions: Cater well for GF free dietKid-friendliness: Child friendly by having seats for young children

Lisa and Dave are so inviting that you could easily bask in their cosy, warm and friendly surroundings all day long. They truly create a very special place, somewhere that stays in your mind and sticks to your heart. Their food is fantastic. I find a small savoury selection is a true sign of a confident master chef. The patties are the very best I’ve tasted, the cheesey scone was delicious and the soup was packed with flavour! The cake selection is phenomenal - even if you are full, take a mini selection of treats or a slice of cake home otherwise you will regret it! I fondly dream of a pattie, a good ol’mug of tea, whilst soaking up the warmth of love and soft reggae music that exudes from The Loft.

Friendly, quirky, fabulous cakes and light lunches. Best little care/tea shop in Essex! The decor is retro, with delightfully mis-matched 60' and 70's cups and saucers. Classy backgrouns music from an original "Dansette" record player. Love it!

What a find, we loved our visit to The Loft!Friendly, family-run business serving hot/cold drinks and light bites. I had a New Yorker bagel, and my wife had a cream cheese and chutney bagel with two hot drinks for £17. The food was great, the coffee was lovely and all at a reasonable price.Outdoor and indoor seating are available, and it's dog-friendly. Ideal place for a stop pre and / or post walk in the nearby marshes. Takeaways are available, too.We really enjoyed our visit and will definitely be back!Wheelchair accessibility: Not very accessibility friendly due to the nature of these lovely old buildings. Steep steps at the front and two or three steps into the side entrance. Outdoor seating on the ground level is available, but space is limited, and you are by the road.
