Really disappointing, won’t be recommending. Unfortunate mix up on the menu resulting in me eating pork as a vegetarian. I threw up all my food to be met with no sympathy. My parents Irish coffee contained little to no whisky and was told that is how it is meant to be. A properly trained member of staff wouldn’t suggest the customer has never had an Irish coffee before and would re make the drink entirely. The younger staff however were great! Very attentive. The roast was okay notThe best, quality of ingredients could have been improved for the price. For example freshly made Yorkshire puddings.

Sweet local pub but the Sunday roast was disappointing.The main area of the pub has a cosy feel but the restaurant area lacks atmosphere. They offer a vegan Sunday roast (chestnut roast) but make sure you ask as the Yorkshire pudding is not vegan (but also not homemade either)! Also no vegan dessert offering :/In addition, the portion sizes were very small and for the price we were quite disappointed by a couple of carrots and some peas.

Super cosy and elegant, recently refurbed. Log fire, dog friendly, excellent cocktail menu. Pub only serves food on Sunday’s but they have a rotating food trucks - see their website for details. Very friendly and welcoming staff. Couldn’t fault it. Good luck to the new owners!

Just had a lovely roast dinner in the Fox and Hounds in Clavering Essex. I would highly recommend it.

A lovely and welcoming village pub. Popped in just for drinks why staying in the area and was told they have only opened again since September. Atmosphere and bar was really nice. There is a large car park and also nice outdoor seating areas with music playing too. Staff are friendly and welcoming. Will definitely come back when in area again and maybe book in for a Sunday dinner too!

We went there 2 years ago for a firework event, which was amazing, parked at the village hall down the road and walked down to the pub, reasonably priced drinks and what an atmosphere!!! Would definitely pop in during the day or if they have another event ??

I was thinking long and hard about writing a review as I was a regular customer here but there is a definite problem like the last two reviewers before me have written with parking and driving. We were here most recently in July and we got spoke to really rudely by the owner. She was complaining about how we were driving across the pebbles and then complained about where we parked - the car park only had other two cars in there at the time! She was very rude and watching us like we were doing something bad - not driving away after we had had our meal which was really nice and we enjoyed it but the owner attitude ruined the afternoon. It’s not what you expect when you go to eat and enjoy in a pub not for behaviour like a parking attendant- very embarrassing

This used to be one of our favourite pubs in the area. We came there at least twice a month with our friends, family members, for at least 4 years … Until we've approached very rude owner at the car park. To be honest – that was unbelievable and unacceptable. The whole conversation about the way we parked was absolutely ridiculous and humiliating. We don’t intend to come back ever again.

What a pub!The staff are very friendly and always greet you with s smile.The whole place (in & out) is immaculate and you can tell it is well looked after.We ordered the burgers and they Did not dissapoint, once of the best burger meals we've had and the chips were amazing!Highly recommend and great for the family.Enjoy....

Delicious jacket potato with coronation chicken. Just how I like them crispy on the outside and fluffy in the middle. Lovely helpful staff.
