Stansted House, Shire Hill, Saffron WaldenWent in the cafe on Wednesday and the nice lad at the bar was super helpful helped me with choosing the menu and made me a very good and strong coffee.
The server also delivered the food with a smile and told me to enjoy the rest of my day this is the type of service I'd expect in a restaurant but fills is a whole different level.
Will be returning in the Christmas period keep up the good work guys.

The food was exceptional – authentic Thai flavours, beautifully presented, and cooked to perfection. I had the Sea Bass Special, and the chef kindly prepared one fillet battered and the other grilled, as I couldn’t decide – such a lovely touch! Both were absolutely delicious. The prawn toast deserves a special mention too – I’ve genuinely never had prawn toast that good before! Paul had the Panang Nuea (beef curry), which was rich, warming, and full of flavour. We were both so impressed. The service was friendly and welcoming, and the pub itself is a lovely, characterful building that feels cosy and inviting. Highly recommend – we’ll definitely be back!

An absolute bargain for some very good chips and some decent cod, The batter wasn’t fully connected to the cod and the fish was not easy to cut as the batter was very crispy. The chips were fairly good and good portion of salt and vinegar on the chips. All sauce was on the house which was a nice touch to the place. A very good selection of seafood to get and overall a very nice place to be.
The portions were really good and a large cod and a large chips were enough to serve two very hungry lads. A nice open area with seats to look out at a nice brick wall but nevertheless the location was very good.

We enjoyed a late lunch and the food was possibly the best I've had in quite a while.
Walking in through the door we received a warm welcome and the lady couldn't have been more helpful or pleasant

If you're after pain maybe this isn't for you, it was medium spiced - a bit of heat but more flavourful than hot. Nice and hot temperature still when it was delivered.
The sauce is indeed watery (need lots of rice).
And they gave me prawn crackers for free.

Some fantastic dishes - leeks, squash, mussels pasta all unbelievably good. We heard so much about the bread and were not disappointed. Gorgeous. Tiramisu by far the best dessert and worth a try - even if full (which we were!).
If you're into food, and sharing, there is nowhere better here in Saffron Walden.

We didn't know the pub, but were welcomed with open arms by the landlord, Ian, his sister-in-law and by the regulars. Really nice beers and bacon butties. A nice mixed crew of young and old, men and women, and the occasional baby! Two lovely labradors made sure we finished our food! Good outdoor area too. We are definitely going back.

No entrance fee and the drinks were the usual price, not hiked up like other pubs we've been to for NYE.They even put on a free buffet!A fabulous little pub, let down by the fact there's only one ladies loo.Returned in February for a drink with friends. Great atmosphere, even without the celebratory new year and live music.The resident dog is a sweetheart who greets patrons enthusiastically in the hope they will play a very specific game with him. So lovely to find a dog friendly place to spend the evening.

The service was very efficient and the food was delicious with all guests very complimentary. Smaller bar area was set aside for the dancing and another small area for cake and nibbles. Bar staff very efficient and kept the drinks flowing. Credit to manager Sam and his deputy Esme.
Visited with family members to check it out as a wedding venue. Just stayed for a drink - a pint of Norfolk ale very well kept. Was welcomed on arrival and noticed attentive staff serving in the large indoor restaurant area.

Most of the staff know what I am about to order before I do. They are a friendly lot.
On one occasion, my bank card wasn't working but one of the staff very kindly let me have a free drink (I won't mention who as I don't want them to get into trouble).
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this branch to anyone.

Smallbridge Rd, Saffron WaldenI always leave this cafe with a huge sense of positivity. The surroundings are cosy and relaxed and it is always spotlessly clean. The staff are incredibly polite and I enjoy being part of the education journey of the young adults who work there. It is great to watch their skills developing at each visit, and the support of the staff guiding them is unwavering. The food is delicious, with an excellent variety on the menu, including daily specials.
