“Our walking party arrived for lunch, thoroughly soaked after getting caught in a huge downpour. We were welcomed in and a heater was put on to help us dry off. Food excellent and drinks the same. They even arranged a cab for us as none of us wanted to carry on with the walk. 5 stars all round.”

“We dined here on a busy Saturday night and had a wonderful evening. We Had a booking for 8.15 and arrived a little early. Lovely warm greeting and was shown to the bar area whilst we awaited our table. Bang on time we were then shown to our table upstairs. Our waitress for the evening was Sarah. She was absolutely fantastic from start to finish. So warm, attentive and knowledgeable about the dishes we ordered. The food was great. My dad and I shared the Cote de Boeuf, it was the stand out. Brilliantly cooked and the flavour was excellent. The younger waiters who also served us were so polite and professional, a credit to the restaurant. Sarah deserves another mention as she was ace. Thank you for a lovely evening. See you again very soon.”

“Me and my boyfriend came in here to have a few drinks and a few games of pool, while visiting Southend for the day. Staff were really nice and friendly. It was a lovey vibe in there for a Saturday night. By the pool table there was a picture on the wall i quite liked it. It was different, so had to share with you all.”

“What a delightful surprise! I’ve not been here for a few years; and previously had been underwhelmed and often disappointed. Not so this time. We were greeted by Vlad , a very impressive and personable gentleman who showed us to our table and made our young grandson feel very special and not invisible as is so often the case. Vlad returned several times to check we were happy; nothing was too much trouble for him.Our waiter was a chap called Caleb. After the the fantastic experience with Vlad, we were astounded that Caleb also treated the diners with kindness and respect . He too made sure our grandson was very happy and attended to.Quite a remarkable experience, and the polar opposite of all my previous experiences there. Obviously things have improved beyond all recognition. I have no hesitation in recommending Strawberry Field, and we will certainly be returning again soon.Parking: Only downside is all the disabled spaces were taken by none blue badge holders.Kid-friendliness: Outstanding”
