Extremely pleasant traditional country public house. I wish I lived nearer.

We visited on Father's day but it wasn't busy, and in fact we were worried by this!, but no need to have been concerned as the tapas food was delicious!! Authentic tasting (we visit Spain regularly), freshly cooked and good size portions. The staff were really friendly and helpful. A truly great Sunday lunch!! Thank you

Good work deserves good recommendation I saw testimonies from several people on this page talking about Mrs. Emilia William and I also decided to give it a try if I would share mine also. I made an investment of $500 with her and got $6300 payouts without stress. Thanks a lot, ma, you are heaven sent I highly recommend her to you all and you will be glad you did. My husband and I have lived in the village for 14 years, and since Stacy has taken over the Rose and Crown this has been our go-to place for Sunday lunch and family gatherings. We have been for chilled Sunday roasts (with a choice of how you would like your beef cooked, quite a rare thing nowadays - and I like my beef rare!), family birthdays, Christmas wreath-making workshops and more. The whole team have always gone above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and looked after. We have visited with friends, as a couple, with large family groups, and with elderly family members, and everyone has always been treated with the utmost care and respect. All have always commented on the quality of the food, and the amazing service from everyone. Having known Stacy for many, many years, we struggle to understand some of the previous comments made about her attitude, especially as we have seen first hand how she looked after and accommodated my elderly Nan for a family birthday celebration. It is a traditional country pub with great food, quirky nooks and snug rooms, a well-chosen and affordable drinks menu, and at times a busy, but friendly atmosphere. Easy to lose the whole afternoon in this place, and that is in no way a bad thing!! As we said to a couple who were visiting today on their way to the airport, you have picked the best place in Stansted for your Sunday lunch. Thanks so much everyone x

We booked at short notice but although the pub was busy they found room with a comfortable table and window seat. The staff were very attentive but not intrusive and the landlady was very friendly and chatty. The roast dinners were piping hot there was a generous selection of vegetables and delicious roast potatoes. Outside there is a garden with children's play equipment and a covered seating area. Recommend a visit if you are in the area, we were visiting family in the area and will certainly put the Rose and Crown on our list of good places to eat.

Huge thanks to the Rose and Crown for squeezing us in last minute on a Sunday for a family occasion. The roast was exceptional and the service was first class. Excellent ambiance and a great outdoor space for the kids to play. This is our third visit and would highly recommend. The staff are very friendly and the landlady really went the extra mile for us.

Called the Rose & Crown last minute Saturday and the landlady Stacey re-jigged to fit us in for Sunday Roast. Stacey is attentive and will do her utmost to accommodate any request. My partner has huge nut allergies, Stacey was quick to ensure all the food brought out was nut free and safe within allergy environment as can be. For a country pub, the food is great, portions are big enough to walk out very full and miss the chance of puddings due to not having enough room for it. Stacey and her team are a joy to be around, friendly, will make time for conversation if you engage with her. Having been to a few of the local Stansted food pubs, I would totally recommend the Rose & Crown.

An absolute disaster. My MiL is at an old peoples’ home nearby. We had a family meal there as it was close by and had good reviews. My MiL is obviously unwell but this was not picked up by the landlady. I accept MiL was abrupt when refusing her meal because she thought it was burnt. I went from the dining room to explain to the LL my MiL has dementia, on saying she would not eat the Yorkshire pudding she slammed it on the bar saying “she should have told me” (remember I just told her MiL has dementia.)The meat my MiL had said was burnt was replaced with something that still had a pulse. I do not expect special treatment, just respect for a clearly unwell person. My MiL cannot be the first person to be taken there due to the proximity to the home. The rest of the staff were extremely helpful and understanding, I just hope the landlady never has a relative with this awful illness and if she does I hope she never has to experience the unkindness we endured. I have mentioned to the home this is not somewhere to take families to, maybe this was the LL motive for her utterly shocking behaviour. I hope she feels ashamed for her rude and callousness to a clearly sick 91 year old widow

Friendly local pub with beer garden, set in a delightful setting close to a traditional village green.

The pub is divided into three separate eating areas inside, also with a bar area where the locals pop in for a drink. Outside there is a bar with stools, tables and marquee. The pub is very well supported by the locals and its clear to see why. Staff very friendly and helpful. An extensive menu with my turkey roast dinner excellent.

We had a great time. The blonde woman, probably the owner (I didn’t asked her name), was really nice and welcoming. Me and my wife had a great time and the best nachos ever. Portions are quite big and food is delicious. We’ll be back very soon.
