We've stayed here before and enjoyed ourselves. The hotel is set right in the centre of Witham with plenty of shops and takeaways nearby. The building is an old coaching inn so a bit creaky and rickety but full of character. The room was well equipped, warm and comfortable. They serve an excellent breakfast. When we stayed in December we were disappointed with the breakfast but the manager reassured us this was a glitch and for our latest stay we found breakfast up to their usual high standard. We've not had the opportunity to eat in the restaurant in the evening but the menus look good. Recommended.

I recently had a short stay at this hotel and was pleasantly surprised by the comfortable, small double in the room I was given, even though I had ordered a single room. The room was kept clean daily, and having breakfast included was a nice touch. The staff was friendly and accommodating, which added to the positive experience. I would definitely recommend this hotel for a comfortable and enjoyable stay.

We were meeting family in town and as there was a rail replacement service that weekend we decided to book a room here.We booked the last room which was a triple bed room.The beds were comfy,there was no noise from the high street and the room was clean with plenty of storage ,kettle and coffee sachets etc.Breakfast was very good and the bar area comfortable and the staff were friendly and efficient.The only bug bear was the small car park and we had to park in the council carpark around the corner and of course pay to park.There are shops nearby to buy anything you may have forgot and places to eat and drink if you want to go out.

We stayed for the weekend - hotel room great, all that we needed, spotless, comfy. However, it was marred by the fact that lunch booking - for 9 - had been lost, as had the deposit paid. By the time they got us a table, realised we had paid ( thanks to online banking) and sat us down, it was almost an hour after our booking. Then we were told as several large orders had been put through, there would be a long wait. When we did get the food ( three of our requested items were off) it was hot and tasty, but I'd be wary of eating here again, although I'd stay in the hotel.

A bit disappointing as we had such a lovely Christmas meal last year. I had the turkey meal it tasted like the meat had arrived presliced with a circle of stuffing in gravy. The pork was very charged and uniform but not crispy. The chicken thighs were very tasty, as were the potatoes and all the vegetables. The starters and desserts were all good. The real pain was when we came to pay the bill. It had to be paid by one person, no separate cards or cash, even if we said the exact amount we wanted to pay. I have never been to a restaurant where this has been refused. Sadly, I will be trying another restaurant next time.

Had our annual Christmas lunch with 5 friends and what a fabulous meal we had in the restaurant at The White Hart in Witham. Tia was our waitress and couldn’t do enough for us. The food was delicious and loads of it! We pre ordered and the food came out piping hot and delivered to us by Tia saying our name so no confusion and all the dishes were just what we ordered with side dishes of our choice. The restaurant was beautifully decorated with sparkly Christmas decorations and twinkly lights so you felt really Christmassy and all the staff made you feel very comfortable. Will definitely be booking for next year and the whole experience was 5 star.

My second time here For breakfast and it just got better today,had the full monty and I am absolutely stuffed,it was delicious,requested for extra mushrooms instead of tomato and they did it without hesitation,great service too,will be back again.Thanks to whoever served me plus the chef,and they currently putting up Christmas decorations and it looks beautiful.Thsnk you.

So having ventured to Witham we thought we would grab a bite to eat.. I am so glad we decided to eat here.The building is huge, situated on the corner with pedestrian traffic lights, making it easy to cross the busy main road.Upon entering the main entrance, there was an unpleasant odour (like that of bad drains) however once inside it got better and better and we soon totally forgot that awful smell.The building has to be described as a tardis, so many areas to sit and even an outside area. We sat in an area to the rear.The place is so quirky, so much detail, features and objects to take in (I wouldn't want to be the cleaner) loved the lamps/light fittings especially the cutlery sets and the various hats.The ladies toilets were lovely and clean.. like the various quotes on the walls to read.The menu was vast, plenty to choose from and they even had specials on boards on the wall (some specials were for set days) some great options.The service was prompt, friendly staff.The food... the food was first class.. everyone totally enjoyed their meal. Totally recommend the Homemade Lasagne, The Hunters Chicken, Sizzling Fajitas, the Burgers and the light bite Nachos were huge. The food was cooked to perfection, presented wonderfully and super tasty.We cannot wait to return to try other meals.. good value for money too.We cannot recommend highly enough.. a real treasure...
