So the place isn't perfect, as many others have pointed out but I definitely think there's been signs of improvement recently. Some new faces on the team have definitely helped. Shout out to Dave who is always incredibly professional and courteous. Also to Ash who seems to take any challenge in his stride and always appears calm under pressure. It can be a busy little place and it often feels like they are a person short which I think links to some of the other comments on here.

There was a bit of a queue when we got here but it of the three members of staff behind the counter, only one was putting much effort into serving us. The other two were having a laugh and a joke with no thought to the people waiting. It's a shame because the atmosphere is very nice here and the coffee is good.

Not a pleasant experience today. Cleanliness in shop front It was not a acceptable standard ie dust, cobwebs, food debris in display cabinet. The cobweb web had seemingly taken up residence!. I have been working in catering for 14 years and ran a baguette bar. You should be able to maintain cleanliness. To finish my review the toilet facilities were also dirty and lacking in evidence of being cleaned.

Not a nice experience to be honest. Whilst waiting noticed cobweb hanging from lampshades, layer of dust on counter top, food debris where the cakes were which looked like it had been there a while. We asked for lattes they were disgusting, more like a flat white white. Used the toilet facilities again standards disgusting. I wouldn't recommend to anyone coming here.

We come here a lot. Not for the coffee or the experience, but to sit outside, relax and people/dog watch. Can’t really work out why we keep coming back because the place is nothing short of a dirty hovel. Don’t even go in the toilet because it’s always filthy. The entire cafe is also filthy. We are there now and I took the time to have a good look at the floor etc and it is a total and utter health hazard! We need our bumps felt really! Staff are always rushed off their feet and come across as rather rude. Customer service is non existent.

The ladies that served us was shoving chocolate cake in her mouth whilst making drinks. Then licking her finger. The cafe was grubby with lots of litter on the floor. Staff were rude.

Unfortunately you have to give a star to right a review, if it was possible I’d give 0. Our last experience was a horror show, we were lied to about an item containing an allergy risk and simply dismissed by the manager. We thought we’d give it a second shot after being apologised to from head office. Terrible mistake. We walked in to have our food taken off us and “heated up” with no mention or acknowledgment and then waited a good few minutes before being asked what drinks we want. The place is absolutely filthy. Dust all over the tills and counters, the ventilation is the fridge is THICK with grime, I had to root around for a water bottle not covered in dirt. The cake display is absolutely filthy, coffee machine hasn’t been near a clean cloth for a long time and there are coffee stains up the wall? Rude staff, dirty location and below par coffee. Save your money, visit the Independent shop next door.

Abysmal service, filthy cafe, rude staff, just dreadful. Avoid. Gone so far downhill. Lynwood is next door and I’d highly recommend it. Came in here with a gift card from the company after complaining about my last visit and the service was horrific again.

Unfortunately this place has gone down hill over the past few years. Firstly the place has increasingly become absolutely filthy, and needs a complete refurb, as a good clean just wouldn’t cut it at this point. As a result, I can’t comment on the food, as I simply won’t buy any (Take a look at the fridge where the cakes, pastries etc are kept, they are particularly disgusting!) Service and coffee from the staff can be ok, but it depends on who serves you. For some reason, there has been a massive turnover in staff over the past year or so, so It’s very hit or miss. Only one or two staff members now seem capable of making a good coffee, which is a real shame. You can also tell some of the staff members are thoroughly fed up and downbeat from being clearly overworked! I used to enjoy coming here many years ago, and kept up the regularity for a while out of loyalty, but unfortunately this won’t be continuing in future and I’ll be taking my custom elsewhere.
It's an AWFUL experience eating here. The place is FILTHY even the flies don't even want to hang about. The standards of staff seem to of plummeted, since when can you serve food with your hair down? Excuse me I do not want to eat your hair? Especially the blonde hair of the rudest staff member I have ever had the opportunity of meeting.I wouldn't touch this place with a barge pole, Needs some bleach and some better attitude.

Coffee is fine, however my partner and I popped in for a coffee and ended up following in a man (with a lead in his hand) with his large dog (not attached to the lead) who appeared to be a regular. Staff began greeting and stroking the dog and allowed it to roam freely behind the coffee bar with its tail and body touching tongs used for the sandwiches and other food handling equipment with the blonde girl serving us seemingly unbothered that these food safety violations were occurring. It was then eventually stopped by a more senior looking chap who waved it back the correct side of the counter whilst the owner did fairly little to retrieve his dog. Disappointing as I have had good experiences there in the past and love seeing dogs around the correct side of the counter, however this experience isn’t particularly acceptable from a food safety standpoint hence I’m writing this review.

I went in a few weeks ago, the place has an awful atmosphere, coffee is not the best either; half my latte was foam, which isn’t value for money. The place itself is really not very clean, could definitely do with some deep cleaning. The toilet made me dry heave, there was what I think was human fecal matter on the floor and the chain was broken, I did inform a member of staff on this. All in all, will not be returning, disappointed in my visit.
