Nice meal christmas day but booked in at 2.30pm and sat down at 3pm service super slow after Kirsty went. Not very good when spending over £200 for 3 people on christmas day. Yes they might be busy but waiting over half an hour between courses is not exceptable. Not sure if i will return with my family unless decent staff who actully care instead of just standing around and not serving do there job. Sorry but i paid good money and service was ########

Christmas dinner, on Christmas day, at the Beefeater was a pleasant surprise. First of all was the excellent service. At no point did we have to ask for anything. As my drink was nearly empty a waitress asked if I wanted another. All meals for 4 were delivered to the table within seconds of each other. Whoever ran the service and the staff must be congratulated. I've eaten in far more expensive places and the service was nowhere near as good.Starters were fine but little garnish next time please The main was perfect as was the desert. Good coffee as well. The best thing though was the service, followed by the food then the atmosphere.Very well done.and no shopping or washing up. Well worth the money.

My steak was tasty and cooked to my liking. Waitress was friendly, but didn't know how many prawns you get as a side order. I was going to share a portion with my brother in law. I'm so glad we ordered a portion each because there was just 2 prawns in each dish (also they were cold). I complained to the waitress and she discounted them from the bill. My brother in laws steak was more rare than medium, also they served chunky chips instead of the skinny fries that he ordered. The waitress did offer to get a bowl of fries, but he didn't want to wait. The email / discount we had off the food was appreciated. On balance, i think we would eat here again, but would not rush back any time soon.

Food was amazing so fresh nice and hot and service was fantastic. It was very quiet for a Sunday and couldn't understand why as the food and service was fantastic.

When we arrived here for the week for work, I booked this knowing that we would dine at a welcoming restaurant with Kirsty and the Team!, unfortunately we were greeted by a guy who was more interested in chewing his gum than engaging conversation, of which I'm sure he never mastered at school. We also witnessed him the following morning walking around the restaurant in his own attire and not engaged whatsoever with the customers, to later find he was the restaurant manager!, there is no way I would return to know he was the guy taking the praise for all the hard work his team undertake to make him look good on reviews!. Shout out to Kirsty, of whom is the reason we book to return, also Shelly who kept us entertained the whole week, and also the kitchen staff that work tirelessly to ensure everyone is fed and happy. Kirsty, Shelly, and the kitchen staff would be the only reason I would return, not the cold shouldered guy that never studied or even Googled the meaning of Customer Service. Only rated 5 stars due to the staff mentioned, Well done team! (Not the gum chewer)

The Manager Lee was amazing. Accommodated us after we had additional members join us. Nothing was too much trouble and Lee was an absolute credit to the establishment. Will 100% return.Kid-friendliness: We had a year old with us and they looked after us so well.

Had a faultless family meal here this evening. Food was excellent. The festive set menu is excellent value for money. Service was also excellent.

Amazing breakfast cooked by Lee, the most friendly hostess Jo shown us to our table. A warm welcome on a cold morning. Restaurant was clean, food was perfect, eggs cooked as you like them and croissants warmed. Thank you for a great start to our day x

I would like to report appalling service received here recently [22/11/23]. I planned to go with family members, just 3 of us (all adults), for a nice meal at my closest Beefeater restaurant - as it happens, to celebrate my birthday that week. We were to be sorely disappointed. On arrival (c.15:30), the restaurant was virtually empty. No-one was at the greeting desk, so we moved to a nearby table (with a view out of the window). A man then walked-up, with no uniform or even a name-badge and demanded, "Have you booked?" We responded that we had not [assuming we didn't need to for that time on a rather dull day]. He then grabbed some menus in a surly fashion, said "Not that one", pointing to the table we had picked - and directed us... to the one next to it! [Identical but with not quite so good a view.] None appeared to be reserved. Before we had removed our coats or sat down, he said gruffly ,"Do you know what drinks you want?" I responded, "I was intending to look at a menu" - to which he replied, "People usually know what they want before they come in". As it was clear that we would not be able to place our order immediately, he stomped-off, to talk to the staff behind the food counter (obviously not being prepared to wait). Had we already taken-up too much of his valuable time or shocked him with our lack of advance preparation? Maybe he wanted to tell them about the terrible people who'd just walked-in! Was he expecting 7 coachloads of diners to arrive soon and would need to get us 'fed and out' asap? Perhaps he can't be bothered by small groups of customers - only caring about tips he might get from larger parties, so saves his politeness for them? Maybe he'd rather be asleep during the day - building-up a reservoir of good service capability, to be dispensed when the sun has gone down? I've no way of knowing. But there was no "Please have a good look at the menu and call me over when you are ready..." etc - as one would expect from such a venue. We decided to leave; if the service was that bad, what would the food be like?! On the way out, I informed the man why we were going - who confirmed that he was in fact the manager! I have rarely experienced such poor and unprofessional service as this. I note other reviews on this site from about the same time: one mentions "Mr Misery", hence my title here; another however reports "fantastic care" given. If these are both instances of the same man, is it just particular customers he has disdain for? With the Covid-era downturn and squeezes on peoples' budgets, isn't the restaurant industry fighting for customers now more than ever - even just small groups? I'm pleased that others have had pleasant visits but it is unclear to me why we should ever attempt to support this venue again... * Incidentally, I submitted a complaint/review to the Beefeater website, a few hours later. It took 5 days for an *automated* response to arrive (not 5 minutes!) and I have had nothing since - after 12 further days. The poor service goes deeper than I feared - or maybe Beefeater as a whole just don't like me! :- ( [NB For anyone wondering, we decided to go to the cafe at the nearby Tesco superstore instead. Obviously a much smaller menu - but I was delighted with what I had there - and the lady behind the counter couldn't have been more friendlier and welcoming! Double thumbs-up to her. My family were equally happy. I know which of the two premises we intend to go back to...!]

After a long and ardous winter journey I looked forward to a hot meal from this beefeater establishment. On this occasion even though the resteraunt waS quiet it took ages for the order to arrive and when it did it was lukewarm and the food was undercooked, although tired and hungry I picked at the meal and decided to leave the rest of the food as really under cooked. My wife decided to leave almost all hers as the prawns and vegetables were truly badly cooked. Calls for the duty manager fell on deaf ears so I paid up and left. Very disappointing as normally the fare presented is good and well prepared
