I am not one to write a review, however, felt it absolutely necessary to tell everyone what a great place this is! We come every Saturday as a family for breakfast. The staff are friendly, know us by name and the food is exactly what you want from a café. We always receive a warm welcome and an excellent service and food. We came many years back just as a drop in, but now visit most weeks - my kids actually wake up on a Saturday and ask if we’re going to the café! I couldn’t recommend this place more highly. If you are looking for fancy decor, then this isn’t your place. However, if you’re looking for good food, a friendly service and a busy and bustling community café, then look no further. We will keep coming back!

The scooter boys were having breakfast, the cafe was busy and the food was spot on. Definitely one to visit again and again. Shame it's well over 100 miles away. But I'm sure we'll be down again to visit family and remember parents passed away. Thank you.

We needed to find lunch in the area and randomly selected the Café Royal. It was an excellent choice!The menu was full and varied, great value and the food delicious. The staff friendly and the place was spotless.I would certainly eat here again and, having visited Gloucester afterwards, worth popping in if visiting that city (only 15 mins from the centre).Dietary restrictions: Good options for those with gluten-intolerence
