We didn't stay here but were looking for a pub to meet up with relatives and we found what we were looking for. Friendly reception on arrival and given varied menus to suit every family's need. There's a mini menu for those who want a smaller meal. They even provide a doggy treat. Never been in a pub that's so anxious to please. Looking forward to our next visit.

We popped in of the m50 hungry and looking for somewhere to eat after a very long drive. We immediately seen the sign for the rose & crown bar and restaurant and followed the directions. We were welcomed by friendly staff each one of them went above and beyond for us. The food was cooked fresh, delicious and portion size was good. We will definitely be returning if passing again in the future. Thankyou.

I wanted to leave this unrated. However, I couldn't in order to be able to leave this review.Food: tasty, good vegan options, price was OK for a country pub. All homemade food.Atmosphere: Well, at first, all good. And then, as we just started our meal one of the bar staff was talking to a couple, very loudly, expressing some very racist comments, and blaming certain religions and ethnicity groups for the state of England. Really made us uncomfortable. What we heard we found extremely upsetting, and it really did ruin the visit. I am fully understanding of people having their own views/opinions, and I do not expect everyone to share my opinions. However, some of the statements made were truly disturbing and quite horrific bold statements to make.I will not, however, tarnish the whole staff that were on as there were helpful friendly staff.It has saddened me to be making a review like this. However, It is something I could not ignore.Due to this, I will not be returning here.

Fabulous place to eat and drink. Rarely do you find somewhere that ticks every box. Great food, Comprehensive menu, Great service and brilliant value. Steak cooked to perfection and staff were more than happy to accommodate our two labradors. Thankyou all, keep up the good work.

Although we only live 25 mins away we had not come across this pub. Saw an ad on our local Facebook page earlier in the day for the Reivers Gallows who were playing at 4 ( brilliant band!) What a fabulous place. Friendly customers, great atmosphere and delicious pizza. Spent a great couple of hours watching the band. Thrilled to see they have live music every Sunday and at a decent time 4-7. Already planning our next visit and can see this becoming one of regular haunts

Well what a place . we stayed in our camper overnight so we could enjoy the live music on Sunday afternoon(which incredibly was free) we had a meal Saturday night which was home cooked pizzas (build your own ) and Sunday we had the most tremendous roast dinner. Staff were brilliant welcoming happy and attentive without overdoing it . Just couldn’t fault it at all will definitely be back well done all and good to see Texas tick fever again perfect weekendFood & drinks: Good food plentiful and hot and so delicious

Arrived on a Saturday we phoned ahead to see of we could park our campervan as we wanted to see Texas tick fever a band we enjoy, allowed to camp free, use of toilet and sink outside 24 hours, had a fantastic pizza on Saturday night and returned next day for Sunday lunch it was tremendous. Great food lovely people good place many thanks

Literally came off M50 J2, and saw a sign for this little hidden gem.We had an awesome, home cooked, delicious meal.Privately owned place, met the ‘cook’ her words not mine, had a lovely chat with her, her name is Ros…We will definitely be back, simply lovely, everything about it .

Stayed here for two days and the rooms were nice, clean and comfortable. The food was delicious and you get plenty of it. Great staff, very friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend!Rooms: The beds were very comfortable, it was quiet and secure.Nearby activities: Museums, other interests.Safety: Very secure.Food & drinks: Great meals, value excellent and you will be well fed with the portions.
