We have been using Toby Carvery for many years and always commend you on the good value for money the meals are. But i was astounded yesterday to be charged £2.40 for a blackcurrant cordial with tap water. Your alcoholic drinks have always been a little pricier than others in the area but we accept them as the food is good. But £2.40 for less than an inch of cordial ???? This is an extortionate mark up on a bottle of squash.

Come here regularly. A carvery with the best gravy ever. What more is there to say. Nice and cosy in the winter and great garden for the summer. Nice staff. Great manageress. Try it out.

Breakfast was really disappointing. Vegetarian options were minimal and the process for ordering them wasn't clear. When they did arrive they were fairly anaemic looking and not very appetising. The mushrooms were full of water and completely unseasoned, the eggs were fairly grim looking, but the hash browns were good at least. Everything just felt a bit grotty and not particularly nice.Vegetarian options: Not the best! Veggie sausages on request.

Waited about 15mins when first arrived at the table for them to take drink orders until my mum politely asked someone (ee would've probably still been waiting) . After that service was then fine. Food was good. Then went to pay at the bar bloke was absolutely lovely tried scanning a voucher i had but unfortunately didn't apply over Christmas but the first waitress we had wouldnt even try scanning it and was quite abrupt. (I didn't know couldn't use it over Xmas neither did she say) However the waitress we had then throughout the evening was fine. Overall food was fine and the root veg soup was lovely

Staff are amazing.Food wasn’t as good as ive had it here before.Toilet was awful and never any hand soap.Table wasn’t cleaned before sitting down. You can hear the younger staff talking about the older staff members in front of customers not very professional.

I have given a 5 star review for the food and staff.Last night I came with family as a get together prior to Xmas. They were clearly grossly understaffed, however, the team did the best they could and that's all I could have asked for.Working in hospitality myself I know the current challenges so I understand it, others may not be as forgiving.Regardless, well done to the team who trooped on.

Food good as always but having booked the festive menu we were a bit disappointed as it was just like any other day. We did think that at least there might be festive serviettes and crackers on the table. Deserts were good helpings other than the rice pudding which barely covered the bottom of the dish.Parking: Never had a problem at Highnam

This is by far the best carvery around, food is always fresh and delicious, friendly staff and fair prices, with special offers too.Well worth travelling to. My family members even travel from Chepstow when they are hungry.Takeaway or deliveries are also an option.

Toby Carvery is what it is, good solid food at reasonable prices, Michelin starred it is not. The waitress managed to confuse a fairly simple booking, leaving my mate eating alone and me waiting for him on the parking lot. The more I think about it the more I realise how stupid the mix+up was.

Brilliant service food was excellent and plenty of it. I didn't even have to queue and it was very busy today . Staff brilliant and worked very hard . Our waiter Dean (I think that was his name) was excellent. 9Dietary restrictions: Always asks if any allergies

No parsnips, the sprouts tasted earthy, peas looked like they had been sat there for a long time, almost no gravy and sauces, only the dregs left, they needed to be filled up, shouldn't have to ask. Staff should be made aware attention to detail is key in the service industry. Overall a good night .

Our meal was arranged for 12:30. At this stage you would expect everything to be perfect. Roast potatoes tasted like they had been cooked, left and cooked again or reheated, certainly not hot fluffy and crisp. and quite dry. Sprouts were cold. Most of the meal was warm rather than hot.Vegetarian options: Very little choice compared to most restaurants

They could not find a table for a single (very hungry) person on a miserable Tuesday evening. Quite happy for a party of seven "walk in" though! Very disappointed. I suppose my spend wasn't worth the bother! Went to the Royal Exchange in Hartpury, they where very happy to feed me. I'll give the Toby another chance as the carvery is very good.
