Lovely setting. Did not get the feeling of personal service, or welcoming friendly atmosphere. Service was somewhat slow. One of our parties food was somewhat cool, so it was recorded, and they were then somewhat behind eating. Food when it arrived was good. Restaurant did not appear to be anywhere near full. This was a Saturday night.

I had the rub of beef, more fat than meat, felt ripped off. Small portion of three small potato pieces and a spoonful of veg, large Yorkshire pudding to cover the rib of fat with a bit of beef. Would never use them for Sunday lunch again.

Only went in on passing by… quick Sunday bite.Poor/small amount of vegetables with the Sunday roast, mainly peas, tiny 3 bits of broccoli, bits of carrot and one limp parsnip, also tiny cut roast pototoes, (no idea why so small and few), pork overcooked. No more than average, unlikely to return on a Sunday. Had cauliflower cheese, no taste of cheese, maybe call it cauli in white sauce!

My family took me here for my 60th birthday, had a great meal, food was delicious, most of us had steak, my sister had lasagne, we all enjoyed it , service was good, we were not hurried in any way & a nice gap in between courses, the 2 guys that served us were lovely, very friendly & couldn't do enough for us, thank you for making my birthday that extra bit special, will definitely be back to sample your Sunday roast , also prices are very reasonable, totally recommend.

Went with a friend for her birthday last night. 1st time for us both and we were really impressed. The internal decor is really lovely and the food the best we have had in Gloucester. We both went for the pork belly main course and homemade bakewell tart pudding. Pictures dont do them justice. Will be back soon.

Mike was very helpful.UPDATE, follow up visit 31/01Ordered the Lasagne which comes with Garlic bread or Chips, so I asked if I could pay the difference in the cost of Chips and Halloumi fries and the young man asked the manger and unfortunately he would not accommodate which is a shame having explained due to my cancer recovery it was a better eating option! A small point which I think my point was missed this evening…. I potentially can use and spend money at this establishment a lot. This edited review is no way a reflection in how as was looked after on my last visit!

Me and my wife had a lovely meal here today. Sea bass was lovely, scallops could be bigger or maybe a few more given the size of them. Cod and chips was lovely, drinks arent cheap,£6 for a pint of pale ale,and £4 for a pint of coke. Staff were

Food was poor, 2 mixed grills were dry as the Sahara, rib eye steak tasted strange(soapy), ordered a side of garlic bread which came out after the mains had been finished with (not finished). Ordered drinks which didn’t go through and had to reorder half hour later with same server. Really bad experience following a positive visit during busy Xmas period.

Had a really good meal.Kid-friendliness: Kids menu was called, young guests menu, it had a good variety of dishes not the usual.
