We went to The Swan for Sunday roast recently. We ordered three courses. The real issue was with the mains - one of us ordered a beef roast and, while some bits were fine/rare, some bits of the meat were just raw and inedible. The rest of the mains (veg), starters and desserts were average but I'd expect better given the price. It's nice on the inside although it was a bit dead when we were there (probably because we had a late lunch). Staff were friendly, and we did get a dessert thrown in for the raw beef - not sure if that's fair or not given the beef was almost untouched, but we appreciated the gesture.Overall, we probably won't come back. There are plenty of nice pubs in the area which do better food for the price paid. I hope things improve as it there's lots of potential.

Christmas Eve lunch for 15 people. Excellent food, served well, in timely manner. Service attentive and friendly. Lovely place to have in the village. Thank you.Vegetarian options: Good range.Dietary restrictions: Happy to hold the garlic.

Very good food, music too present... and table in the back room... too bad!

We used to go here a lot and loved it but hadn’t been for a while. Local friends had advised us that the restaurant had slipped but we went anyway. What a disappointment. The restaurant was not even half full at 7pm on a weeknight during the Christmas break which should have told us all we needed to know when places like the lamb in Burford and the lamb at Crawley are (rightly) full to bursting. The portion sizes were tiny (4 stalks of broccoli is a portion apparently), they had run out of burgers and the main course fish dish was tiny, more like a starter portion. The vegan burger was also very small while the fillet steak was priced at £49 (we didn’t have that). We came home and had a bowl of cereal each because we were so hungry having had a three course meal (and no, we don’t have enormous insatiable appetites - we have never done this before - ever!). It is such a shame as this had been such a lovely place to go. Now it’s a rip off. I appreciate food prices have risen but portion sizes here are a fraction of those anywhere else. We left at 10am - the place was empty. The waitresses were lovely and the service was prompt but that’s not enough to bring us back, sadly.

We had excellent burgers and steak here on a Friday night, great meal overall. Returned on Saturday to watch rugby, despite saying they were showing it, wasn't on any of the TV screens and also no food available.I would recommend booking a sit-down meal here rather than chancing it.

We had a great dinner. The food tastes awesome. The service is great and always there if something is needed.I would have preferred a bigger offer of local beers but what we got was great.

Very slow service (it was Friday and they were busy). They squeezed us in as we didn’t have a reservation. We ordered wine at the same time as our meal. The wine never arrived, and we couldn’t flag down a server. In the end it was a “sorry”, and that’s all. Disappointing.

We have had two really lovely suppers at The Swan this week. The food has been delicious - roasted cod, patatas bravas, goats cheese curd, berry mess, sparkling English wine... all has been perfect. The service from lovely Dan, Paula, Matt and the rest of the team was warm and attentive. So happy to have this wonderful pub a short walk away in the heart of stunning Southrop.

We were early but our table was quickly prepared for us. The menu was short and uncomplicated and the food was very good. The service was good at all times.

The food was really lovely, top quality pub food, but expensive compared to others in the area. Service was patchy. After we were seated we waiting over 20 mins to be given a menu and order a drink. Some staff very really lovely and helpful with our dog. Would go again but think the service charge is a bit much when you factor in the cost of the food.
