Me & my partner had a lovely meal here, we both had the Sizzling Ribeye with mushrooms, onions, chips & peppercorn sauce, it was delicious, cooked to prefection, lovely atmosphere & friendly staff, we will definitely return.

Lovely meal we ate in the bar. Good choice on the specials board . The Cross is a lovely pub with excellent service . The only fault really is that there are too many bar stools at the bar making it difficult to be served at times .

Fantastic Sunday lunch. Loads of fresh veg, cauliflower cheese which was delicious! Extract gravy. Good service and lots of space. We didn’t have room for pudding which was a shame, maybe next time.

We had a great meal tonight, brilliant scallops and samphire followed by venison with a red wine sauce for me, and smooth pate followed by a huge fish pie topped with king prawns for my friend. The food was superb, the bar area friendly and lively and our table was just a little tucked away so we could eat and chat. Service was attentive without being overbearing. Overall a lovely evening in a pretty, bustling village local. Recommended!

A local pub for us and always offers a friendly welcome. Good choice on menu and always a specials board. Usually a weekly cocktail too all of which have been sampled, enjoyed and recommended. Large portions of food and all our friends love this pub and are happy to return regularly. Local bands and a great atmosphere.

Great night, the only problem was the portion size was too big. Seriously, the food was great and could not fault the service.Thank you, Dee and team, for helping to make my cousins birthday meal a great success. We will definitely be returning often.

Lovely pub, great service. Food was perfect, from the roast to burgers and nachos. Big portions, all cooked perfectly and very good value for money. Most definitely be back.

We happened apon The Cross, and how lucky we were. A warm welcome from an older lady on the bar, spent time talking with our children and a treat for our dog. The food was hot, tasty and good value. Lovely well kept garden also, will definitely return on our next visit.

I visited Friday 8th September. Staff were very efficient, polite and welcoming. There was music outside in the beer garden, by a singer called Venus, she was AMAZING and very versatile. All in all a great night at The Cross.

Food was ok nothing special. No veg with the main course. Service was ok. Price was extorniate £ 97 for two. Glass of wine 7.50 beer 4.40. The speech house is nicer the atmosphere better the food even better. Will never reccomend or return to the cross…complete rip off.

Lovely pub and gardens. Nice staff. Didn't look at menu, but will be back. Parking lot always full, which says a lot. However, close to £9 for 2 ales. Ouch.Wheelchair accessibility: No issue unless you need to order then go to back garden. Then need to go around outside from pub entrance.

Had a lovely meal, great food, atmosphere and service!

We had a seat in restaurant next to bar which made hearing each other chatting quite difficult and it was near the steps to come through to restaurant and kitchen so there was a lot of footfall during our meal. The food was lovely with large portions and service was great as well.

We had a mini break staying in Lydney. I asked a random guy on the high street where was good to eat? He told us to drive to the next village and try here....WoW we had a wonderful evening just me and my teenage son. What great service great food we made use of the games available & had a few rounds of cards (other games were available!) It was great to have a time without the normal distraction of mobile phones or TV it can be hard with a teenager. Thanks for have these games available!Kid-friendliness: Board games and packs of cards and dominoes available and kids options on the menu however my son at 14 is past kids the menu but was glad to see the options of a smaller plate of gammon available which he lovedParking: Parking in the pub car park is limited but there is street parking available along the lane which runs parallel to the pub
