Jimmy's Kitchen
71 Newerne St, LydneyNice customer service and lovely food. Special chow mein and chicken chow mein are absolutely beautiful. My favourite takeaway in the FOD. The only reason I didn’t put 5 stars was because the duck I ordered wasn’t pleasant. It was hard and dry. Other than that, tasty, splendid food!

The Swan Hotel
Newerne St, LydneyAnother fantastic meal at The Swan. I should have taken photos but was too interested in eating it instead! This is restaurant quality food and definitely not the usual pub grub. The food is presented very well and the staff are always friendly and attentive. We’ve eaten here plenty of times and it never disappoints whether you eat in the bar or the restaurant. Thanks guys, we’ll be back again?

Four Seasons Coffee Shop
White Cross Rd, LydneyWe have recently moved to the area and went for a stroll Easter weekend around the park area and stumbled upon the coffee shop. Was a lovely little coffee shop very family friendly was busy when I went in which is a great sign! Had 2 lattes with toffee crunch was very tasty just took a while as looks like only 1 side of the machine was running. Staff was very friendly and polite. Cakes looked super yummy ? My only critique is that I didn't see anywhere prices of anything unless it was cooked food (chalkboard menu). I tried to find one and seen a list of types of coffees and syrups without prices and the signage in the cakes case was great but again no prices. May have ordered a cake or crisps but I didn't want to hold up more of the que asking staff for prices so think it may be an idea to publish prices. Overalls was a great experience, average coffee price and enjoyed our drinks. Will be coming in again I'm sure ?

NG Thai Food
18 Hill St, LydneyPopped in on our way home. We expected it to be more like a ordinary takeaway, but it wasn't. It was a proper Thai restaurant with lovely tables, menu and cosy corners. The most extraordinary was the ceiling - lamps and parasols were beautiful... Food - it was perfectly cooked, tasty and it looked like a little but it was so filling that we took quite a long time to finish off. We recommend this place and hopefully to come back one day.

Frydays Chip Shop
High Beech Rd, Bream, LydneyMy family and I came to the local area on a weeks holiday and went to Frydays.
Wow, we ordered Cod and Chips with curry sauce, absolutely amazing.
Asked for directions to a local Off Licence and the helpful staff literally walked us through the directions.
Lovely small venue with maximum talent of running a local chippy.
Glad that we experienced the service and food.
Just a FYI that we are not local and travelled from Windsor for a week away.

Lydney Harbour Cafe
Unit 136, Lydney Industrial Estate, Harbour Rd, LydneyWe visited the Harbour today and obviously it was absolutely boiling hot. It was very busy with many people likely to buy food from the cafe. There was absolutely no shade whatsoever so people with young children couldn't stay and sit in the full sun. I went in to use the toilets and saw to my astonishment some very large green table umbrellas rolled up unused. I think on the hottest day of the year the umbrellas would have been very useful and helpful, more customers would have stayed and the cafe would have made more profit.

Tasty Bites
13A High St, LydneyCame here this morning for breakfast while staying in local motel. 4 of us in total. Unfortunately dogs are not allowed so our small Cocker Spaniel had
to stay in the car opposite in the square. Friendly attentive member of staff took our order and our food was soon presented to us at our table. Our breakfast was freshly prepared, very well presented & very tasty. Although parking isn't the best, they are well worth visiting to start the day off. Would definitely go again!!!

Coffee Local
4-5, Regent Walk, Regents Walk, Newerne St, LydneyDoesn't look like much from the roadside - it's in a small arcade which has seen better days, but I'm glad I ventured in. It's bigger than it first appears. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. They make sandwiches to order and were doing a brisk takeaway trade at lunch time. There was a good selection of cakes, with a couple of gluten free options: the g-f cherry and almond cake was scrumptious. I had a nice cappuccino and and enjoyed the comfy armchairs (there are also traditional table setups) as well as the very friendly and laid back atmosphere.

Bream Sports Club
High St, Bream, LydneyFriendly social club. Decent range of drinks and a well kept cellar. Having used it on and off for several years we finally paid to become members recently. Should have done it years ago. Two large screen tv's with the option of bt sport and sky sport. More often than not there is an event on during the week / weekend. Very much a supporter of the village community.

The George Inn and Millingbrook Lodge ltd
High St, Aylburton, LydneyVery spacious carpark, also, not far from a bus stop , so no excuse not to go.
Went for a Saturday cooked breakfast and a Sunday carvery, forwarded of food allergies and intolerance and they went above and beyond in seemlessly catering for me. Truly felt warmly welcomed and cared about.
Food was top notch too, from the breakfast selection to the Sunday Carvery and dessert, nicely cooked and tasty. Thank you all.

The Fountain Inn
Fountain Way, Parkend, LydneyWent in for dinner, saw their menu online and thought it was a lot more interesting than other similar types of pubs. All the tables were reserved on a weekday evening in the summer holidays so would definitely recommend booking in advance (especially if you have a dog like us). The staff were all very very lovely and the food came quickly, the beef on the braised beef was slightly dry and the one of us who had the burger didn’t really enjoy it. But felt generally like good value for money and the other 2 of us enjoyed our meals greatly.

The Ugly Duckling
3 Swan Rd, LydneyWe went for a date night which meant we were massively overdressed for the environment as it is essentially a pub instead of a restaurant.
That aside the food was amazing, and the lady that was serving us couldn't be more kind, lovely and accommodating. My partner had a couple of dietary requirements so the hostess and the kitchen were going truly out of their way to not only accommodate, but even create dishes to provide a substantial choice. We had an amazing night and are so grateful for being so spoilt.
