Stayed on Saturday 16th March, everything in the room you needed, very friendly and helpful staff, breakfast was fantastic, all freshly cooked and hot, very enjoyable, would recommend.Kath.Rooms: Rooms have all you need, for your stay and bed was VERY comfortable, thought it would be noisy with own room facing the road but it wasn't, we had a really good sleep and woke refreshed ready for the lovely breakfast.

Held a lunch party to celebrate a special birthday a couple of weeks before Christmas. Party included three young children. Food and service were outstanding (thanks in particular to Chris, who went well beyond what we could have expected). Home cooked really means home cooked here. Highly recommended! Only problem with this venue is parking is a bit restrictedFood & drinks: Superb and reasonably priced

Lovely friendly people , very welcoming (thanks Chris ?). Had a single room that was just right - everything I needed to hand. Breakfast was fab - would definitely recommend staying here.

The welcome we received was warm, friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Our room fresh, clean, bright and comfortable. We ate Sunday lunch here it was very gorgeous. Breakfast was amazing loads of it! All staff we meet were friendly and helpful. Great place to stay.

Wonderful staff, we could not have asked for better service. The food was delicious and the beds were comfortable. The swan Hotel is situated in y centre of Lydney, about a mile from the railway station. The Dirty Duck restaurant is well worth a visit.

Reasonably priced B&B. Basically average rooms above a pub. The rooms weren't great, but reflect the cost. The breakfast was fantastic, no complaints, and the service at the bar and for breakfast was wonderful.

5 star staff, 5 star food, unfortunately it's a old building. Stairs are the main problem as quite awkward if mobility is a problem and the rooms were very hot and as we were on the front, you could only open the windows for short periods, due to the noise of the traffic. Greeted by Christine on arrival and was made to feel like an old friend, so helpful and friendly and the rest of the staff were the same. Nothing was too much trouble. Evening meal on the first night totally exceeded all expectations, homemade cheese and chive rolls started the meal off and to say they were devine is a total understatement, starters of cheese and mushroom tart and salmon roulade were equally tasty and the rump steaks were cooked to perfection, as were all sides. Didn't think breakfast could compete but boy it did, local products, all cooked to perfection, big shout out for the bacon and scrambled eggs, add this to the friendly service, it was just the perfect way to start the day .

The staff and food were quite exceptional. Nothing was too much trouble and they were all smiley, friendly and multi tasking. The Ugly Duckling Restaurant was some how nicer but food was same. Very reasonable, yet very good. Quite faultless. The same however cannot be said of the location of the rooms. Good job it wasn’t too hot otherwise with a window open we would have felt we were sleeping out on the pavement.
