Set on top of a hill, in the middle of a golf course and some beautiful walks, the Old Lodge is an absolute gem !We stayed for a night with our little baby and the room was large and spacious (even with a traveling cot in there). It has an old-world charm.The downstairs is completely occupied by a restaurant and bar area and it is absolutely delightful! Full of cheer and dogs and smiles.For breakfast (included with the room rate), I had the full English (don't skip!l) and we also had the Avocado with Sourdough and poached eggs. Compliments to the chef !! Simply delectable!

what a nice suprise, the pub-hotel seems out of time, but what a charming place, nothing around but a roots golf field, excellent restaurant, many salons, rooms are a little bit small but extremely confortable, "mind our head, mind step step"

A great location for visiting surrounding areas. Set in the middle of the common with golf course next door. The pub is very busy both throughout the day and evening (dog walkers/Golfers in day)The food served was superb and well presented whether it was an evening meal or breakfast.The old lodge has a excellent choice of ales to suit everyone.Our room on the front was comfortable and like the rest of this pub has plenty of charm and character.What makes this pub though is it's staff who were very friendly, helpful and above all attentive at all times.Well done to you all.A really enjoyable stayThank you.

Very good value for money. Rooms are not extraordinary (perfectly fine, about what you would expect at this price), the breakfast was very nice, the Lodge is a very homely and welcoming, and the location is absolutely stunning.Seemed to be well-accessible by public transport as well with seemingly a bus stop only for this place (Tom's Old Signpost), but only if the weather allows for walking through the Golf course :-).

Stayed one night for work purposes. Rooms were clean and cosy. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Good menu which was great as hotel is out of the way.Service at breakfast could have been speedier especially as I was the only person in the restaurant at the time but overall I would visit againFood & drinks: Good veggie / vegan options

Restaurant food was clearly chef led. Great taste and presentation. Breakfast menu amazing. Bedroom was thoughtfully furnished in keeping with the Old Lodge, clean and adequate for 2 nights stay. Staff friendly and helpful. Highly recommend.Food & drinks: High chef quality. Good interesting independent menu.
