Have being staying at the Greyhound for thirteen years and really love this place. The breakfasts are really great and we had yoghurt, toast and a huge fried breakfast on both days on this recent visit. The ensuite room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. Our pet Greyhound loved his stay aswell. The Greyhound has a very homely atmosphere and the staff friendly and helpful. We will be back again soon.

We have stayed at The Greyhound many times. The room was fine although we had trouble with the tv and radio. The breakfast was excellent, well cooked and presented.Rooms: Comfortable, clean, well-appointed.Food & drinks: Excellent breakfast; we did not have any other meals there on our one night stay.

The Greyhound is in a great location in Carshalton. I do feel like the rooms could do with a refresh as there was bits of plaster needing attention and generally room looked a little tired. The staff are attentive when they aren't too busy. Breakfast was a disappointment. Clearly my plate of full English with scrambled eggs had sat under the heat lamp for a long time as my eggs were rubbery and the mushrooms pretty much burnt. Thank goodness for the breakfast buffet of cereal etc. My husband's poached eggs were over cooked and served on an untoasted and unbuttered piece of brown bread. Attention to detail needed in this lovely pub with a great location. Perhaps they are resting on their laurels as one of the only (or few) places to stay in Carshlaton. Could definitely do better to make a much nicer stay.Rooms: Needing a lick of paint and a refresh generally.Nearby activities: Lovely walks near the ponds.Safety: Felt safe with separate entrance and key card away from the pub section.Walkability: Very near the famous Carshalton Ponds and the High Street.Food & drinks: Good service when they aren't busy. Breakfast overcooked and disappointing.Noteworthy details: Cosy atmosphere generally throughout the pub.

Food was amazing! Service was great and accommodating. The young lad (Oisin?) was fantastic, so quick and remembered everything. Thank you for a wonderful lunch!

We booked a double room to stay the night before and night of our wedding. After asking if it was possible to move to a room on a lower floor (as I would have to negotiate lots of stairs in my wedding dress!) they gave us a free upgrade to one of their boutique rooms! This meant we had plenty of room the morning of the wedding for the bridesmaids to get ready with the make up artist and photographer also present. The Greyhound staff were so helpful and hospitable which helped make our special day even better! We also had dinner there one night and the food was wonderful. Thank you so much.

Having grown up in the area many years ago, I chose The Greyhound, as Carshalton Ponds is still a ‘village’ retreat away for the surrounding London metropolis. I went for the setting but came away in awe of the pub/hotel and staff! I live in Devon now but my husband had to go to Cheam for open heart surgery. He was supposed to be in and out in a week, however he developed pneumonia and I rushed up to be with him. I didn't know how long I needed to go for and told the staff that, and they graciously accommodated my every need. The rooms are very well thought out, have all the things you require and the beds are superb! I don't sleep well in general, but was so comfortable in their beds, and slept well even considering the worrying circumstances. The water pressure in the showers was unreal!! Thoroughly enjoyed my showers. I had to change rooms throughout my stay, and each room was a joy. I ate in the pub on two nights, my appetite was not great and I had small meals, however, the pub and dining area is very comfortable and I loved the pub comfy chairs, and also felt so comfortable and safe on my own… not something that is true in so many other establishments. On my last morning, on check out ( hubby was being discharged thank goodness) the owner, I believe it was Colum, I am remiss in not taking his name, sorry, went above and beyond and sent me home with two pints of Ordinary and a pint glass for my man as he is such a lover of Youngs! It is the little things that mean so much and I was touched, as was hubby! These are the pubs/hotels that need to be kept alive and loved. Thank you sooo much for taking care of me in a time of such worry. We will be back if/when we return back to anywhere near you!
