Living a 4 minute walk away we went last night for their 'Thursday Steak Night'. The place had been nicely done up sine we last visited. We ordered a drink, took it to our table and ordered our food. There were 9 tables with mostly 2 guests per table and it was 7.15pm. By 8.30 nothing had come, we asked and were told they were very busy. Miraculously 10 minutes later 2 steaks with chips and salad arrived, along with a side order of broccoli. All cold. I asked the charming waitress who was working alone, to send it back, she helpfully did that, back it came 15 minutes later the same dishes and still cold. We'd arrived at 7pm and it was now 9pm. I asked for the bill, which they comped completely so we paid for nothing, when said nicely how disappointed we were having to eat cold food, she said the chef is new! we will not go again, so beware!

Great South African food and wines, lovely outdoor seating with heaters in winter, indoor seating is comfy amongst the tasteful decor. Staff are always lovely and kind. Very relaxed atmosphere. Great place to visit when I’m feeling homesick for Cape Town.

This is a local pub for me, so it was nice to try something a little different from the usual Gastro Pub... I've got no complaints about the food or the service. Staff very friendly if a little rushed - we ordered some cheese toasties as a starter while waiting for a main course..... and this came with out main meal.. Not ordinarily a problem , but considering we pre-ordered our food and still had to wait well over an hour for our Sunday Roast that really is just not acceptable. There you go, the worst over, long wait - thankfully the food was very nice, well presented and very reasonably priced £15-18 per head. Just a shame it took so long to come to our table, otherwise would have a been very nice afternoon...

We drove past this place for a year without going in and have only realised what a mistake that was. It’s an utterly gorgeous pub with a beautiful interior and a fabulous South African menu. It has a nice atmosphere but is never too busy to get a table with the kids for early dinner. Every staff member we’ve ever encountered has been both knowledgeable and clearly well versed in what they do. Keep doing what you’re doing, Park Tavern team - you have something really refreshing going on! Highly recommend.

A fantastic Christmas lunch for 10 was happily celebrated at Park Tavern SW18. Beautiful decor, friendly, helpful staff, out of this world South African bubbles and scrumptious food. We will all be back !

Good pub with a little bit of a South African vibe. Nicely decorated with a bar space and separate dining room. Service was slow. Good outside drinking space for the summer months.

A nice reminder of home ?? Great pub that serves South African braai food. The meat is very tender and well seasoned. The braaibroodjies are always a treat and sometimes sell out so best to order early! They also sell nice South African wine and springbokkie shots. All orders can be made on the app or with the waiters, who are very friendly and helpful. The pub does get busy on match days which leads to long waiting times but worth the wait.

The worst meal we’ve had in years. Food was cold, chips were like cardboard (turns out they were frozen oven chips) and service was terrible, had to ask for everything, including staff forgetting one of the mains (why don’t people write things down?) that took another 20mins to arrive. Child’s pasta meal was loaded with sugar. Even the Guinness wasn’t very good. Expensive

Staff was lovely and accommodating, however service was a little slow.\\nTbone was overcooked and flavourless and chips overcooked and very oily.\\nThe staff kindly gave us another one, it was better but still flavourless.\\nSausage was also dry and the sweet potato cheese was more a dessert than a side.

It’s a substantial venue with a bar, large wood-panelled dining room with a front patio and a covered garden area to the rear. Most were fairly deserted this Thursday lunchtime and we were the only occupants in the inside dining room apart from the occasional visitor to the gents’ loo to the rear. The relatively new owners offer a menu focused upon grilled meats including more orthodox steaks and burgers as well as blackened beef and pork sausages served by the half or full metre but served like Cumberland sausages in an ever decreasing circle. We opted for a cold meat platter to start featuring an excellent pork and peach terrine, some more blackened sausages and beef slices but with strips of bread as the more substantial basket was unavailable. No complaints about my ribeye steak or my wife’s sausage but accompanying chunky chips were a tad oily. A pint of doom bar was welcome. There is a blackboard with a mightily impressive wine selection from around the world. Service was scrupulously polite.

Everything here was fantastic, service and food. We originally booked a table outside but the weather was a little unpredictable so Michael went out of his way to move us inside. Table service was efficient even though they were incredibly busy. The food was phenomenal and platter we shared was top notch, I’ll 100% be going back for more. If you enjoy meat and a god cost pub, this is your place.

Park Tavern is even better since the refurb and the semi covered garden area at the back is perfect for summer drinks and a braai or a cosy winter meal thanks to the new toasty heating recently installed. You can expect to be wowed by the generous portions and the superb wine selection to accompany their top notch carnivore offering of delights. There’s more than enough choice for those that prefer less meaty options too. Good food, freshly prepared on the grill takes a bit longer than the microwave food you get from most pubs so sit back, drink some good wine and be rewarded with a superb meal in the end. My personal favourite is the 1kg aged lamb ribs with a caramelised roasted onion and chunky chips. It’s simply divine and enough to satisfy any caveman’s appetite! My wife prefers the burgers - veggie and otherwise and she keeps ordering them so it must be good. Lastly, but by no means the least, there’s the Steak. With a capital S. Oh lord…the steak is to die for! Generous sized Ribeye or T-Bone, perfectly cooked on a wood fire that gives it a beautiful, smoky BBQ ( Braai) taste, juicy and tender. Park Tavern has so much going for it - everything from the wine list, the good food to the beautiful interior ( large enough to socially distance responsibly!) to the stunning outside garden makes for a great dining out experience. I highly recommend giving this delightful establishment a try wether it is date night or drinks with friends.
