The best Amaretto Sour in London!

Nipped in for a drink with my parents. Service was absolutely impeccable. Drinks were good, with ample selection. The downside was that the piano player took a "10 minute break" just after we sat down. We certainly took our time with our drinks, but he only just got back to the piano as we were about to leave. This was a real shame, since the piano is such an important part of the ambience here

We called at the Savoy American Bar after a show. We are teetotal so decided on a pot of Earl Grey tea.The staff , ambience & pianist were excellent and they deserve 5 stars. The tea was a little disappointing, it lacked the taste of a high end Earl Grey and I could only give 2 stars. The accompanying cookies were good.

Classic old school feeling even nostalgic- going through the lobby and admiring the decor, art and flower arrangements. You feel like you have been transformed to a different era at least hundred years ago. Live piano performance- very entertaining and enjoyable- if you don’t drink alcohol you can always order the tea.

Fantastic service and the most delicious non alcoholic cocktail I’ve ever had. The staff could not have been more attentive from liaising prior to my booking right through to the end and made my Mum’s birthday one to remember. Thank you.

Drinks not food, always a treat to visit the American Bar. Usual top notch Savoy service. Not cheap, unsurprisingly, as it is the Savoy!Pianist playing in the background all add to the atmosphere.

Incredible cocktails, but, as you might expect, quite expensive - definitely a special occasion venue for most people!

We popped in for a cocktail before our lunch reservation at the Savoy Grill. I had high hopes given the reputation of the venue however was left quite underwhelmed. The service was top notch as expected and the drinks were very good however there was a lack of atmosphere which something as simple as piano music would have solved. Perhaps we visited at the wrong time of day but surely on a Sunday lunchtime there should be some sort of atmosphere.

Wonderful location and excellent service - I always feel at home here. If going for the first time, I suggest getting a cocktail and using the servers extensive expertise to make a recommendation.

The hubby and I came for drinks before going to a nearby restaurant for dinner. We had champagne (it was his 40th birthday) and then two cocktails each. The drinks were excellent, the cocktail menu had so many interesting options, and the bar snacks were deliciously addictive! The service was exceptional, we were spoilt from the moment we sat down till we left. The pianist who started playing 15 / 30 minutes into our arrival was a welcome surprise and made the atmosphere even better. It was an outstanding start to an excellent night celebrating the hubby’s birthday - We will definitely come again!

We weren’t dressed for the Savoy but then again I wouldn’t say other guests were either. Even so it didn’t feel that welcoming. The front of house seemed reluctant and initially gave use poor seats. By the time we’d moved we were sat next to a guy on his own that seemed to think very highly of himself as he sat there in a quater zip jumper and Clark’s shoes. He occasionally glancing at us, trying to hide his displeasure, no doubt at our denim…? The waiting staff were knowledgeable and polite but seemed a little disingenuous in that way that trained but inexperienced hosts often can. We all had martinis. They were mixed well, but it was obvious that the glasses had not been chilled sufficient and thus the drinks were a little warmer than they should have been. In terms of décore, the place seemed dated rather than classically stylish; some of the furniture was even a bit tacky, in my humble opinion. We only stayed for one although we had time to kill and might have had more. It was disappointing because we had come directly from the excellent Lyle’s across time where we had lunch. The bar was a real contrast to the much more modern and friendly Lyle’s, which trades on current excellence rather than past glory. I probably won’t go back.

Cocktails were tasteless and nothing special for £26 I can get a better cocktail in slug and lettuce for £12 and these are buy one get one free. Place is smaller than it looks nothing much to it. My partners cocktail had a big ice block in it, once removed took the drink to half the glass. Not worth it. I wouldn’t bother nothing fancy about any of the cocktails! Glasses were standard glass tumblers. Overall it cost £60 for 2 cocktails with one not even being drank as was tastelss.
