“Absolute hidden gem for GLUTEN FREE folks.Tuesday breakfast: Menu was partially gluten free. I ordered the GF buttermilk waffles which they prepare in a dedicated setting(they don't have regular waffles). Extreeemely good, medium thickness, with a crunch when you bite in. My side of scrambled eggs and tomato was also excellent; I think they maybe snuck some cheese into the eggs as they were a bit creamy?Wednesday dinner: Menu was completely gluten free including the complimentary sourdough rolls served with housemade butter-- best GF bread EVER! We even requested a second round. The quail appetizer was perfect. The steak was fancy and cut like butter, and the potato side dish also just tasted like delicious butter. My BF liked the beer battered fish, which was the cheapest entree but probably a rare find for any celiac. To get to the restaurant, you go into the hotel and up one level. The vibe is very quiet and proper.”

“Good food, very creative dishes and tasty flavours served in beautiful style. The atmosphere is quirky and contemporary, though the hip-hop sound played in the background was a bit misplaced.Good to know: the servers recommended 3 dishes per person, we went for 2 dishes and had plenty, plus the dishes are quite pricey (though they already include the service charge premium). The lunch came to a total of GBP166 for four people without drinks and wine etc. which is substantial.”

“We celebrated my partner's birthday at Ormer and we loved the experience. The place is beautifully decorated, the atmosphere a retro vibe from the 40s, with lighting and decoration carefully thought of and designed. We had a five course menu paired with wine, the food was excellent with a special mention for the mackerel and the lamb, exquisite flavours and textures made in heaven. As for the wine pairing menu, the choices were clearly made to put all the lights on the food with a good balance of classics and less known wines. I really enjoyed it and on a next visit, I'd love to see some more bolder options. The portuguese vinho verde, from the Loureiro grape and the Pouilly-Fumé wouldbe great additions :-)At last but certainly not the least, the service is exceptional. Friendly, very knowledgeable and attentive the team has my five ?”

“I had wanted to visit the Tavern for a long time so was very much looking forward to dinner with the family on a Saturday night. The surroundings are absolutely lovely and we were seated at a round table which I liked. There was a good choice on the menu and the service was great. I have dietary requirements but they were great at accommodating them. My only criticism is that I ordered strawberry and vanilla ice cream but they brought chocolate and was told they didn’t have strawberry. Really they should not assume that was ok just to change it - it’s not something I like and had to leave it. Overall it was lovely but not as good as I had imagined it would be.”
