Amazing to experience delicious Japanese street-food. Well worth the price. Recommend to book in advance to avoid

Third time lucky but managed to dine at Okan. Highly recommend AVOIDing walk ins on busy nights as you most likely will be turned away. You are best off booking a table online in advance. Okan is really really tiny but atomspheric. Food is like nothing I've had before! Really lovely starter and main except the dessert. Unfortunately did not enjoy the matcha cake - if you are a huge matcha fan - you may enjoy it. But was not for me.

Wow! Just like back home in the Pacific Northwest. Very good value for the quality.

I thought I was in JapanI liked the enthusiasm of cooking. The food shouldn't have been what you expected either.Still, I think it would be a bit of a break if things were like this in the UK.thank youThe fact that a restaurant like this exists in the UK stimulates the curiosity of travelers.I was thankful that frozen food was reheated on an iron plate.I think I should eat Japanese food in Japan, but having a restaurant like this is a bit of comfort to British travelers.

A very flavorful Japanese restaurant. Except for the rice balls, everything else is very delicious.

Unique decor and really good okonomiyaki. Would recommend going for a date/small groups, don’t really recommend the other foods other than okonomiyaki.

Good fresh food cooked right infront of you depending on where you sit.Daily specials on the board.Good range of traditional Japanese dishes.Friendly and helpful staff.Definitely book ahead of time, it's difficult to get same day bookings depending on the time of year.Good for groups or couples.

Instead of taking 12 hours to fly to Japan, it is far easier to go to Okan (behind the London Eye). I was seated near three real Japanese man and the background music is from the 80s. And if you close your eyes, you can imagine you are in Tokyo. And when you open your eyes, you are in Tokyo (for a few seconds) !!you do need to make a reservation as the place is small, just like a small Japanese restaurant in Tokyo.

Great authentic Japanese food and was delicious. We tried the okonomiyaki, some Japanese noodles and matcha cheesecake (not pictured). Although it is a bit small- the restaurant was comfortable and the service was friendly. However the matcha cheesecake was tiny especially for the expensive price. This place is also very close to the Waterloo station and I would definitely recommend.
