Ai Sushi
830 High Rd, LondonJoe Fulton and I returned to Ai sushi in hopes of a redemption story. Our hopes were fulfilled. Last we visited (as you can read in his review), the service was slow and dissapointing. No such tragedy happened this time.
The service, particularly the older lady, was very attentive. The food was delivered fairly promptly, with us spending just over an hour in the restaurant. The duck hand rolls and maki rolls were nothing short of sublime. The salmon nigiri, the chicken and beef skewers, the prawn tempura and the miso soup were tasty also. However, the salmon maki was unpleasant and the fish tasted frozen. Everything else was good though.

Nando's Finchley - Great North Leisure

Costa Coffee
Coppetts Centre, LondonWell this was a nice surprise. Waiting for some work to be done on my car at a nearby garage and decided to pop in here to wait.
You have to head right to the back of Tesco and up the stairs but it's worth the search.
A nice light and airy space with a good choice of seating (hard chairs, banquettes, sofa and high chairs). Beautifully clean and tidy, which is rare these days. I hate it when you go for a coffee, only to be faced with used coffee cups and dirty tables everywhere. The food and merch displays were well placed and considered. The staff obviously take pride in what they're doing.
A polite, if somewhat aggressive greeting by the one member of staff but it was early morning (well 9am), so I'll let her off that!!! I'd rather that than to be left waiting.
Not a fan of the double handled mugs for a large hot drink, made me feel like a toddler!!
Talking of which there are toilets too. Didn't try them, so can't vouch for their cleanliness.
Towards the end of my stay a few people arrived with their Tesco trolleys full of shopping. Not a problem while it's quiet but that could be annoying when busy.

Caffè Nero
776 High Road, LondonThis Caffè Nero is just around the corner from where I live, and it’s become one of my favourite local spots.
The coffee is always great, the staff are friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere is really comfortable. I often come here to work , the chairs and tables are comfortable, the music is relaxing, and it’s very easy to focus.
It’s also a lovely place just to sit, have a coffee and unwind. A really nice little discovery, and I’d definitely recommend it. ☕️

great north leisure park, chapelfield, LondonMonday's aren't very busy and so service was swift. I want to give a shout out to Emily, who was the best waitress I have ever come across here. She got me warm water without batting and eyelid and offered to take a photo when she saw us struggling with this. She was fast and friendly. One star lost as I thought the food was a bit salty.

758 High Rd, LondonI almost fell for the recent negative reviews, but I'm so glad I decided to check it out for myself! The Subway in North Finchley is a fantastic spot for lunch, or even brunch. The environment is welcoming and clean, with great signage promoting their 'eat fresh' mission. And let me tell you, the food is fresh and delicious! I tried their hash browns, and they were a tasty addition to my meal, perfect for breakfast. Definitely a great place to grab a bite, and I'll be coming back regularly. Don't believe the bad reviews – this Subway is awesome!

KFC North Finchley - High Road
793 High Rd, LondonA few months ago i made a complaint of this branch over cooking their hot wings which leaves a burnt taste to them. This branch no longer over cooks their wings which is very good. The chicken now is cooked perfectly to order and is always fresh. Customer service is also good at this store where the team is always polite and ready to help.
