I had a walk in Sunday Roast at The Selkirk.I am a South Korean born who grew up in New Zealand. I spent 5 years in boarding school and I did not look forward to my sundays as it was always Sunday roast and I got sick of it. Ever since then I had a bad image on it.My Airbnb host recommended me this beautiful Gastropub. The food was spectacular. The pub was rammed full of Christmas parties and there was a big queue for the bar and I nearly walked straight out again. Pleased I didn’t. The waitresses were SO nice. My main (chicken, leek and tarragon pie) was exquisite. Pudding (sticky toffee) was gorgeous. Lovely wine and such a warm welcome (despite being sat by the door and almost under the Christmas tree). Lovely evening. Thank you.

We recently celebrated the birthdays of my daughter and her partner by coming here for Sunday lunch. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and were happy to bring out the birthday cakes we'd brought. It's a dog-friendly place, and our dog certainly appreciated the friendly attention she received. The Sunday lunch was absolutely delicious, both the roasts and the vegetarian options.
