The Vine Inn , is a must to go, very very friendly family warm atmosphere, John and Jo are so perfect for the Vine such a great couple,Mark the chef, well how he produces all the food, he must be in so early peeling them potatoes lol lol, the food is amazing always very enjoyable. It just makes you feel like a member of the family which sadly in these present days we don't have enough places like the vine.. Once again a very enjoyable day

A Digital Detox pub! It's Mr Smith's policy, it's a blanket ban on using laptops, tablets and mobiles. It encourages people to talk to each other, just like in the good old days!Anyway, we had two homemade Sunday lunches, not dinged in a microwave. The landlord was stoking up the coal and log fires while I washed down my lunch with two pints of Old Brewery Bitter.Look at my other reviews to see where I've been!

Recently called in for lunch, myself and my husband opted for the liver and onions served with fresh vegetables (carrots, broccoli and cabbage), creamy mashed potato and delicious gravy. Another family member opted for the scampi served with homemade chips, mushy peas and tartar sauce. Nothing microwaved here just good home cooking, the chef knows how to cook! Service was very good and a very friendly warm welcome by staff. Prices excellent.

I have been drinking in this pub since 1988 and it has managed to retain the atmosphere of a traditional pub throughout that time. Food is really good and made not microwaved like a lot of places. Took a friend there for some food and he loved it and as for the digital detox (no phones or iPads), I purposely leave my phone in the car as no phone call is that important and gives me an hour to forget about emails, texts and calls. You can keep phone on silent and go outside if you really need to take a call. Took kids in a week ago without phones and had an actual conversation with them ?.Vegetarian options: Mark the chef will always accommodate diners particular wishes.Parking: Large free car park

Fantastic lunch here recently. Myself and my husband opted for the liver and onions served with fresh vegetables (carrots, cabbage and broccoli), creamy mash and delicious gravy. Nothing microwaved here, everything was all fresh, piping hot and tasty. The chef knows how to cook . Another family member opted for the scampi served with yummy homemade chips, mushy peas and homemade tartare sauce. All excellent and very reasonable prices too. The gentleman behind the bar John I think was his name was very friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend and we'll be back very soon. Thank you ?

Amazing unexpected lunch at the Vine Inn, myself and my partner had just been for a walk in Dunham Massey and decided to nip somewhere for some lunch after, we hadn’t heard of the Vine Inn before and when you walk in the decor is slightly dated which made us question how good the experience might be but once you taste the food it all just becomes part of the charm! We had soup and breaded mushrooms to start and both were lovely but the absolute showstopper was the Fish and Chips mains, the fish was outstanding and both me and partner haven’t stopped craving it since Saturday. We were stuffed as the portions are very generous but after we knew how good the chef was we finished off with some desserts, sticky toffee pudding and an apple crumble - both were top class. Will be back soon!

Came here for a celebration of life meal after my mums funeral. 14 of us enjoyed a meal cooked by Mark, bless him. The fish and chips were enormous and everyone commented how delicious the food was. John did everything to make us comfortable and provided us with a private area in a sunlit room Such a warm and friendly pub, so nice to see the regulars enjoying a drink and a chat. Will definitely visit often.

Cheap but nice drinks. They were very welcoming to a gang of about 30 hikers in the early afternoon. Lovely seating indoors and outdoors.

Great little gem of a place. Honest, welcoming, warm open fire and clean aswell. We had the pie which came with homemade chips and a selection of fresh vegetables with tasty gravy too. The cook took pride in his meals and asked our opinion aswell. Great value, would visit there again for sure. Loved the digital detox policy too!

Such a friendly pub - Our running club, Cheshire Hash House Harriers, arranged to meet at The Vine for an evening run, after the run we all piled into the pub for a few drinks to rehydrate! The landlord was so accommodating and made us all feel so welcome. A traditional pub - which is rare these day, open fire, good beer. We will definitely be back.
