Good selection of in-house Holts ales, lagers and stouts as well as well priced own-brand spirits. This historic "calendar" pub is in excellent preserved condition and well worth a visit for its unspoilt turn of the (last) century character.
It's a brilliant traditional Holt's pub with original ornate wooden bars, fireplaces and furniture. Lovely landlord and landlady and staff and of course, brilliant beers and prices. Also spotlessly clean. Only given FOUR because they can't do food or entertainment at the moment, then it will be back to FIVE ? *****

I didn't eat but the ales were amazing, as was the history of the pub and the staff aswell as the local drinkers went out of their was to be friendly & helpful. Hope to be back next time I'm going to The Reebok/Macron/University of Bolton Stadium.
