Dog friendly. Food excellent.Vegetarian options: They didn't have the vegetarian curry on the menu but asked could we have it and the chef made it especially for us.

Lovely pub, visited with our two friends and two dogs. Sat inside in their cosy snug to the right hand side, was perfect for the dogs to settle. Although the food is on the slightly more expensive side of a gastro-pub, it's absolutely amazing and you definitely get what you pay for. Portions are large and the quality and presentation was excellent. Service was really good even with it being a busy Sunday, could not fault anything! Thank you so much!

Had a lovely stop here after a walk up to Peel tower. Great fish finger sandwich!

We were a group of 4 for lunch. This was our first visit since it re-opened last June. We did not have any starters. All the main courses were delicious, namely the catch of the day (sea bass), with a lovely salsa and mashed potato. The shin of beef in a tartlet, sirloin steak and traditional fish & chips were also fabulous. 2 of us had white chocolate bavarois, which was light and delicious. My wife had the almond cake and my friend had the cheeseboard with 3 cheeses, which was plentiful. There is a fair size car park and wheelchair accessibility if you eat and drink in the bar area. There are a few steps down into the restaurant area where we were situated. I will definitely be going there again and recommend others to do the same. The chef is clearly talented. Local people are very lucky to have such a nice gastro pub to visit.

Lovely Sunday lunch and steak burger today ? good to see it open again, lovely friendly family atmosphere and dog friendly ? good valueOnly slight negative is a few of the younger waiting on staff could do with some training, learn the menus and details ready for customers questions but hopefully this will improve. Fantastic friendly new landlord who could answer our questions ?

Nice food and good service, but the pub isn't 'cosy' - too bright with plastic benches.

Sunday lunch with friends who live locally. Brilliant staff, very friendly and inviting. Food was excellent and slightly different from the norm. Personally I had the chicken and mushroom suet pudding dish and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

First and not last time visiting . Lunch after an icy walk to peel tower . Delicious food and great service . I had the cheese and onion pie ? husband wants to go back so he can have it although he devoured his sausage and mash . A party of 4 and we all enjoyed

First time since reopening and always enjoyed it previously. Unfortunately this evening was disappointing. I ordered cheese and onion pie and my husband the beef shin. The food was very well presented and the beef shin had a nice taste although a little dry. The cheese and onion pie was overcooked and served with what seemed to be frozen chips. I finished with a latte which was so strong and bitter it was undrinkable. The staff were attentive and replenished drinks when empty. Unfortunately we won’t be returning for food which is.a shame having visited for many years.
