“What a hidden gem in Dibsbury! The menu is simple and there’s not a huge choice but each dish sounds enticing! Using locally-grown or sourced produce is the restaurant’s mantra and are masterfully cooked by the chef. The restaurant is cosy and has a homely-feel. Advance booking a must!”

“We arrived early for our booking because we weren't exactly sure where the restaurant was. We were professionally courteously and friendly received before being taken to our table. We ordered from the a la carte and the editor was Fabio who provided exceptional service and attended was knowledgeable of the food choices we made. Fabio was great throughout the entire meal. The meal was absolutely superb, as you would expect, and every dish was a tasting extravaganza. Absolutely delicious. The restaurant tables were well spaced and created a very private atmosphere for each party and there was no stuffy atmosphere. A thoroughly enjoyable experience and we can't wait to return. I cannot recommend the restaurant highly enough. I hope James is proud of the team he has created and the service, food and hospitality that exists at the Manchester.”

“My first visit to this place. Now don’t get me wrong but I don’t think I’m out of place to suggest Tyldesley is hardly a gastronomic centre. Indeed, in years gone by it’s more the type of place where you’d expect a fight on an evening. And this place looks like the type of venue where you might have had this in yesteryear. But step inside and you’re treated to a management clearly trying to make this place stand out for being different. Varied menu. Friendly staff. And the food was really good. The roast was enormous. And the burgers are worth their year 2000 award. And as an aside the entry to the gents looked like a typical pub toilet yet inside was something befitting of a gastropub. Tiled and spotlessly clean. If you want nice food in a more traditional northern pub type atmosphere you should visit Union Arms. Will defo be returning.”

“Three reasons why Mana gets 5 stars : 1. The staff - from front of house to chefs - welcoming, professional, friendly, knowledgeable, smart, funny …. Being served food by the chef who has made it, and is more than happy to discuss every little detail was a great treat. 2. The ambiance - lovely big room, spaced tables, calm open kitchen, music not too loud … very relaxing. 3. The food - Amazing complex and intense flavours. Lots of old and new techniques - salt curing, fermenting, inoculating, smoking, etc. Some dishes and processes very painstaking but always with good reason. Every course was a total delight. Only one grumble - I’m a big fan of bread, and some nice bread to mop up our plates would have been an extra pleasure. Never mind, next time I go I might just pop a couple of crusty rolls in my pocket !”

“I went to this restaurant because there was a dating event held by a company called Unified Dating and no-one turned up so I was sat alone for a whole hour.Rachel (general manager) and Roisin (bar staff) never made me feel alone even though I was sat alone and always checked on me to see how I was feeling and they were very empathetic throughout and made me feel like I was at home and I have to say that they are the nicest staff I have ever come across in any restaurant and they are a prime example of what customer service should be. ❤The halloumi fries and diet coke that I had were also provided free of charge to compensate for the £13.99 that I paid for this dating event but I have to say, I wouldn't think twice paying for food that high of quality for the prices. ☺Roisin also had said that I'm welcome back any time and I will definitely be paying a visit again. ?”

“Erst offers a small menu designed for sharing. There were 3 of us and we shared 9 of the 12ish dishes available. Everything we ate was delicious with particular mention going to the flatbread with tomatoes, the beetroot with ajo blanco, the lamb ragú and the onglet steak. For dessert the fig panna cotta was as good as it gets. We had a very good bottle of wine recommended to us by the charming, knowledgeable enthusiastic waiter and our bill came to £50 a head including tip, which bearing in mind the fantastic experience we had is in my opinion excellent value. The only possible negative is a wine list full of natural wines, which I think you need to be quite adept at navigating to avoid a disappointing experience .”
