I used to love this chippy always raved about it but recently it has fell off, when the boss isn’t in the standards drop. Ask for fresh fish past 2 times I’ve been in and got old cabinet fish, chips slightly undercooked but I can deal with that. Hopefully they can get back to there best.
There's not many places where you can tell care and attention went into every detail. It feels like the workers there looked at every part of the classic fish and chips and asked "what's the best way of making this", from the fish, to the chips, to the vividly green mushy peas. The food is cheap, delicious, generous. Their service was quick, polite, and graceful. The locale itself was pristinely clean, and had a nostalgic, quintessential British fish and chips look. Excellent fish, chips,mushy peas and buttered muffin. Delivered on a monday night in lousy weather and they were hot and the batter was crispy. Sime reviews have said their meal was served in polystyrene, NOT IN THIS CASE SERVED IN PAPER LINED CARDBOARD CARTON IN A PAPER BAG only plastic was in the container for the mushy peas. This meal was delicious highly recommend
