What a little gem of a place! We stayed here on the 29th December. Beautiful welcome by staff. Shown up to our room which was gorgeous. Before arriving, very helpful, accommodating and nothing was a problem, as we were travelling as a family of 4 from the south of England. So much attention to detail, milk and juice in fridge, coffee machine, lots of towels, complementary drinks at the bar, it is the simple things that made our stay so enjoyable. We had dinner down at the restaurant in the evening. The food was spectacular; quality dishes! Again, the staff could not have done more for us and entertained our kids as well with colouring in etc. Great nights sleep had by all! In the morning, the breakfast WOW!!!! Everyone was catered for; whether you wanted a continental, full English or both! Bill was so welcoming and could not do enough to make us feel at home. I would highly recommend the Eagle and Child as a must stop in Ramsbottom. Thank you for a wonderful experience!

You must try the haddock arancini starter/small plate in a curry sauce. It's simply delicious, best arancini I've eaten!I also had the steak frites which I was very impressed with. The truffle parmesan fries were lovely. The venue was very busy so we had to wait a while for our drinks but it's a lovely place to wait in. The staff were very warm and friendly too. Ended the meal with a liquor coffee!

Visited early January and so glad we did. I’ve wanted to visit here for a while as it’s always been highly rated. The service was excellent and staff very friendly. The crispy chicken thighs with chicken gravy were simply amazing as was the beef cheeks with marrowbone crumb, worthy of a Michelin Star. My wife’s Steak and Ale pie was a winner too. Please give this place a try.

We have visited for a family early dinner on NYE, what a wonderful little place. The food was fantastic, the staff were wonderful, chatty and attentive. The venue was tidy and clean with beautiful festive decorations gave a warm cosy feel. We will definitely be returning!

Our first visit to The Eagle and Child we were visiting friends who live locally and had highly recommended it . The food was incredible and the service was excellent. The staff were so friendly and our waitress Freya was attentive and super helpful . We will be back . Thankyou

We stayed here again for a Christmas catch up. The room we stopped in was first class, with everything we needed, fabulous en suite and a fantastic view from our window. Nice little touches in the room like fresh milk, yoghurts and fresh orange juice. Even had a coffee machine with pods included. We also ate here and the turkey dinner was delicious with outstanding gravy ?. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Great choice of drinks behind the bar. Breakfast was just as delicious too. Top service and excellent care. 100% recommend a visit. 10/10 ?????

Poor service, burnt chips, wilted salad due to so much oil dressing, Turkey sandwich, more like a jam butty as so much cranberry smothered all over it - cheap bread, not home baked or even best from supermarket, cheapest!

A lovely evening meal bought as an anniversary "present" for my wife and I from our daughter. Excellent food, catering for those with a big appetite and those a little more restrained! Excellent service. The only complaint I could have is that the noise level was a bit higher than I would like (at my age) but not surpring on a Friday evening. The number of diners and drinkers is indicative of the popularity of the Eagle & Child.
