Very nice restaurant right inside Red Hall Hotel. The restaurant space is not very big but moderately furnished. We had afternoon tea which was good but not very exceptional. The items served were okay but just the regular sandwich, Sausage roll, scones and selection of sweets. In all, it was a great time with my wife.

Afternoon tea for 4 was delicious. There was more than enough that we had to take some home in a tub. Staff were lovely and polite. Would definitely

Four of us had afternoon tea here last month - it was excellent. Sandwiches and savouries were more interesting than the usual fare - eg mozzarella on brioche, a delicious warm slice of sausage roll. And finger sandwiches of course. The scones were generously sized with clotted cream and jam. We had seven little cakes each - a delightful mini strawberry tart, a triangle of chocolate brownie, lemon drizzle, macaron, plus others.I've been back again this month and it was just as lovely. The staff are very welcoming, the surroundings are pleasant and the vintage china was an unusual touch.Dietary restrictions: On both occasions one person has a restricted diet and each of them was well catered for.

Oscars, for being a part of the hotel, the restaurant is pleasant, the food is well presented and reasonable with a good choice to cater for all pallets. The staff are friendly and helpful with a welcoming smile, for me it just lacks atmosphere it's nicely decorated with a modern vibe, but whether it's the layout or the shape of the room, it just seems to lack something. But this would not put me off from having a meal here.

What a disappointing afternoon tea. I phoned and spoke to a member of staff and checked that they could cater for a dairy intolerance with their afternoon tea, to which they confirmed that they deal with various dietary needs. When I booked the actual afternoon tea, I confirmed that one of the party was dairy intolerant and no issues were raised. When we arrived they checked with us that one of the party was dairy intolerant and we confirmed, they said that our food would be with us in 5 mins, it was more like 20/25 mins but that was fine, until the food arrived, please see the photos for the difference in what was provided, when I questioned that I was getting the tiered food and my mum was getting the small amount on the additional plate, the member of staff said that they struggle with dairy intolerances and they’d arrange for some fruit salad to arrive, it was 2 tiny kebabs with probably 4 or 5 pieces of fruit on them. If a dairy intolerance was so hard to cater for, why say that they could do it, other places have said they don’t cater for it and then others have been fantastic. If I’m honest the normal afternoon tea wasn’t that great, I ate bits of it and brought some home but I’ve had better. We won’t be going back and I wouldn’t go if you have a dietary need because you will be an inconvenience to them.

visited with a friend, excellent meal and service from Chelsea, a spotlessly clean venue. All in all a very pleasant venue serving excellent food and an extensive menu will certainly be visiting again.

My brother in law and his wife joined us for an early dinner in September, to celebrate our wedding anniversay. Well, whilst neither of us had previously dined at Oscars, at only 6.00/6.30pm on a Friday evening, we were the only ones in the restaurant and strangely, even by 8.00pm, there was only one other family in for dinner - almost an unearthly silence. That said, we wanted a quiet dinner, easy "catch up" and we certainly got that and I suppose we could make as much noise as we wanted....but now down to service and food, This is not an evening menu with an absolute vast choice and in some ways that would hopefully demonstrate, what they do cook, they might cook very well. We ordered a selection of starters for all to share and four quite diverse main courses, chicken, salad, sea bass, pasta - all arrived beautifully presented, wonderfully tasty and where applicable, piping hot. We were informed afterwards, quite oddly, that their busiest restaurant times are during the week, rather than weekends. Would we dine here again......yes, hopefully experiencing an overall better atmosphere.

Second dinner in 5 months and the experience was top notch from friendly service to excellence of cuisine. Great choice, fresh ingredients, freshly prepared with skill and competence. The lamb shank is to die for as is the Sunday roast. The wife had the sea bass and I've rarely seen her clear the plate with as much gusto. She raved over the fish. Would definitely go again. Not the cheapest at first sight yet excellent value for what's on offer. Plus clean well appointed decor and surroundings. Service with a smile. Recommended.
