Been here a few times and is a really good chippy, everything that we have had has been excellent.Update -I don't know if this place has been taken over by new owners or not but the food on my last couple of visits has seriously declined in quality, the fish was very greasy - in fact my son and I couldn't taste the fish for the taste of the grease and both of the fish ended up in the bin as they were unedible, the gravy that used to be gorgeous was pretty poor, the chips were...read full review

Great service and staff. Excellent food and I go regularly. If you've never tried it, I suggest you do. Small English chippy and great prices. Still a great place for food. Update: prices have gone up a bit, due to the government guidelines on plastic and polystyrene use. But still worth going and great staff. Our Inlaws live in Stalybridge, when we visit we are regulars at the Oxford Street Chippy. The food (usually Steak Pudding, Chips n Gravy or Fish n Chips) is plentyful and delicious served by a fantastic team. I wouldn't o anywhere else and can't wait o visit again VERY soon. Ps... I live in Cornwall & the Gish n Chips here is only equalled by Francines of Newquay & St Austell
