Market St, Standish, WiganDidn't eat here, came to support Woodstock, a live band, on their first time at this establishment. Fabulous night by them and a wonderful turn out by the pub patrons, especially on such a wet and windy night. Audience was as fantastic as the band was! Look forward to watching them here again.
Ps the staff were super friendly and hard working. ❤️

La Mama Bar & Restaurant
19-21 High St, Standish, WiganWe have been a regular customer in la mama for 20 years or more. The food is always superb, the service exceptional. By far the best place to eat in Standish. The personal touch is rare in any hospitality venue these days. Recommend la mama to everyone. You will not be disappointed.

4 Pepper Ln, Standish, WiganGot be best fish and chip shop ive been for ages, kept driving past and seeing how busy it was and kept meaning to stop and try it, one day I thought im going to have to give it a go and in happy did, I had chips beans and cheese, with a some haddock bits and a baby head aka steak pudding, the chips was crispy on the oust side and fluffy in the middle, the haddock bites was great too crispy and moist in the middle, the steak pudding has the be one of the best ive very tasted, I good size too, ive been back a couple of times and im sure to visit again,

Siam House Thai Takeaway
65 Church St, Standish, WiganAmazing food as always 10/10 restaurant quality Thai cuisine. Went in the shop and ordered but got given the wrong bag, we’d made a big 50 pound order and only realised when got it home. We called siam house who couldn’t be more apologetic and said to keep the food we’d got and they would deliver, free of charge our correct order!
Not many places would do this, assuming the other order got mixed up with ours and they had to replace both, they would be down over 100 pounds but the service was exceptional. Our correct order was delivered within the hour.
Will 100% be back, thanks again for sorting it guys.

The White Crow
Chorley Rd, Worthington, Standish, WiganLovely little getaway for the evening. Staff are very friendly and service is quick and efficient. Atmosphere is great with background music ranging from all eras. Food was very nice well presented and hot where required. Side salad was a bit nice to leave... oops. Prices for starters ranged from £5.95 to £7.95. So a little higher than some establishments of similar nature, but I will say, well worth it.
Although out in the sticks so to speak for most it does mean a nominated driver might be worth considering.

Spar, Ground Floor Premises, School Ln, Standish, WiganBeen going here for years, I have left a review before but needed an update, Can’t beat a classic subway. Id possibly say its better than half the subways round the country only because the staff are always great and go above and beyond. Always telling you the best deals and little secrets about certain things, one about the ben and Jerry’s but I can’t say??.Also got to give a massive props to one of the workers Micheal, I’d got 2 tango ice-blasts from spar and he gave me a cup holder for them even tho i’d technically left subway.Food is always great, never had a burnt subway unlike from others. Even tho its attached to a spar the atmosphere is decent tbh. there’s places to sit inside, best seat is obvs the window seat with the stools. Although I always takeaway.Overall, It’s a Subway only one in standish and better than the 2 in wigan in my opinion so Enjoy ?I recommend The baller. Unfortunately they don’t do sriracha sauce which is a big let down for spicy food loversParking: Its free but small and pretty sure its timed.Wheelchair accessibility: There is a ramp into the building

Premier Inn Wigan North (M6 Jct 27) hotel
Almond Brook Rd, Standish, WiganWe stayed for two nights as we were attending a wedding nearby.
Check in was simple and Emily was very friendly and helpful.
Parking is a bit tight and limited, but we managed to get a space.
This is an older Premier Inn, and the rooms are a tad dated, with small bathrooms.
The room was clean and well maintained, with some tea and coffee, with top ups freely available in reception.
Unusually there is no bar or restaurant attached, although there’s a Hickories next door. Unfortunately they don’t open until 10 if you take breakfast.
Menus for the restaurant are available in your room and the Wi-Fi is stable and a decent speed.
