19-21 High St, Standish, WiganHad a brilliant meal here with family. The only thing that let it down for me was the garlic bread. It was like a pizza but was expecting more like handmade and out of shape, if that makes sense, with lots of flavour, but it was just like a free garlic bread when you order a take away, and I find them a bit tasteless. Would definitely go again x

Market St, Standish, WiganI went in for my birthday, with a group of my mates. We were made to feel welcome and the landlady was amazing got everyone to sing happy birthday to me. Amazing pub, amazing landlady and wonderful regulars

4 Pepper Ln, Standish, WiganI have passed this chippy many times but never called in, decided to have a change today.\nOrdered a lighty battered fish, chips and gravy\n£10.90 was surprised over the price, putting that aside the meal arrived, well presented with a smile ? all I can say is Wow the fish was whiter than white cooked to perfection, the chips actually tasted like potatoes, yummy gravy.\nAte everything and enjoyed the whole lot, it was that good I actually popped back in to let them know that I enjoyed the food and it was the best fish and chips I have ever eaten.\nHighly recommend this place \nCan’t wait to return \nMy local chippy is very poor quality compared to this place\nThe good old saying is you get what you pay for ?

The White Crow
Chorley Rd, Worthington, Standish, WiganLovely little getaway for the evening. Staff are very friendly and service is quick and efficient. Atmosphere is great with background music ranging from all eras. Food was very nice well presented and hot where required. Side salad was a bit nice to leave... oops. Prices for starters ranged from £5.95 to £7.95. So a little higher than some establishments of similar nature, but I will say, well worth it.
Although out in the sticks so to speak for most it does mean a nominated driver might be worth considering.

Spar, Ground Floor Premises, School Ln, Standish, WiganBeen going here for years, I have left a review before but needed an update, Can’t beat a classic subway. Id possibly say its better than half the subways round the country only because the staff are always great and go above and beyond. Always telling you the best deals and little secrets about certain things, one about the ben and Jerry’s but I can’t say??.Also got to give a massive props to one of the workers Micheal, I’d got 2 tango ice-blasts from spar and he gave me a cup holder for them even tho i’d technically left subway.Food is always great, never had a burnt subway unlike from others. Even tho its attached to a spar the atmosphere is decent tbh. there’s places to sit inside, best seat is obvs the window seat with the stools. Although I always takeaway.Overall, It’s a Subway only one in standish and better than the 2 in wigan in my opinion so Enjoy ?I recommend The baller. Unfortunately they don’t do sriracha sauce which is a big let down for spicy food loversParking: Its free but small and pretty sure its timed.Wheelchair accessibility: There is a ramp into the building

9 High St, Standish, WiganThe kebabs are so great! Tim’s special is a bit of a challenge for one person but if you want the ultimate feast then order that. The chilli sauce is amazing .I order extra every time

Premier Inn Wigan North (M6 Jct 27) hotel
Almond Brook Rd, Standish, WiganWe stayed for two nights as we were attending a wedding nearby.
Check in was simple and Emily was very friendly and helpful.
Parking is a bit tight and limited, but we managed to get a space.
This is an older Premier Inn, and the rooms are a tad dated, with small bathrooms.
The room was clean and well maintained, with some tea and coffee, with top ups freely available in reception.
Unusually there is no bar or restaurant attached, although there’s a Hickories next door. Unfortunately they don’t open until 10 if you take breakfast.
Menus for the restaurant are available in your room and the Wi-Fi is stable and a decent speed.

The Owls at Standish
Rectory Ln, Standish, WiganBeautiful venue with stunning atmosphere and views. Menu looks amazing and food was really nice however as a vegan there was very limited options. More vegan options would be great including a vegan dessert option as there was none. But for non vegans this place would be wonderful for all occasions and you'd love the food. Looks especially nice at Christmas there! Please consider accomodating vegans more. Would definitely come back if there was more options!

Tims Pizza Kebab House
21 Pole St, Standish, WiganWe ordered pizzas to be delivered for a large camping group. Tim could not have been more helpful. The delivery was on time and delivered right to our event field. The food was delicious and piping hot.
