We were there for Mother’s Day lunch.Though we had no table booked, we had no issues getting table on arrival. Felt very welcomed and looked after by the staff. The meal and atmosphere were very affordable and authentic to UK pub.Highly recommended and will go back when we are next that way.

I attended an engagement party at the weekend. The place was absolutely packed. I wasn't looking forward to the wait at the bar. BUT, I don't think I waited for more than a few minutes. The buffet that was put on (although I didn't eat anything), looked really good. Well done to The Oak.

the landlord needs to have a little bit more respect for customers as well as locals less swearing and farting infront of everyone no way to act not profressional

A 6 minute detour from the M3 whilst on our way to the New Forest found us at The Oak, The landlord Tony and his lovely assistant Sarah were so friendly and served us a lovely delicious lunch. There’s a wide selection of lagers and a pint of the black stuff, Guinness, for my partner, the legendary Andy Ellison of 60’s Proto punk band Johns Children and later new wave band Radio Stars. This place is highly recommended. Thank you Tony and Sarah.

Great evening for the darts. Friendly atmosphere staff were great but no food on offer which was disappointing, however the darts team sorted that which was brilliant.

Brilliant place to stay or just a drink! We stopped in for just a drink but couldn’t resist eating after seeing some food come out for other guests. We weren’t disappointed, the food looked amazing, tasted better & the atmosphere was perfect!

Perhaps you should consider renaming the place “the Walter Mitty “ ? It would suit the landlord down to the ground , but luckily HMRC will be closing the place soon
