It's our local, and we're pretty lucky that it is. Quite old-fashioned, but that's part of its appeal. Comfortable and unpretentious. You should go and try it! Handy for the station, too.
Stopped by as on way back to London, waiting for the Waterloo train. had a very warm welcome from a lovely lady serving the customers. As a CAMRA member i was going to sample some Ales, i thought ill leave that until im home up smoke, so opted for a Guinness, absolutely Top Notch it was too, served lovingly with a careful hand the barlady crafted a shamrock on the Vicars Collar. The Queens Arms is a very traditional pub conveniently close to Basingstoke railway station, and to the town. If you like a good pint of real ale in an old fashioned, local pub atmosphere, this is the place for you. Great beer - usually at least 2 or 3 hand-pulled ales - and good, pleasant service. No frills but worth a visit. Long may these sort of pubs remain.
