Two of us went for Sunday lunch on the first May bank holiday weekend. Both had the roast beef. We had a late lunch (2pm) and I was slightly worried the food might be limited or ‘the dregs’. Me, the wife and the dog, dropped in here as we'd been out walking locally. What a lovely pub this is! It just felt so cosy and friendly. The staff were really nice and the bar lady paid special attention to Bert, our dog, bringing him a bowl of water and a couple of dog biscuit treats. Went for a themed night, food was good if a bit pricey. Very quiet, no fault of the publican but no one else eating at the time due to 4 table no shows....that is not fair on the business. Apparently it's a lot busier at the weekends
