Stayed overnight a week ago to attend an event on the Friday in Alverstoken. The welcome was superb ad the meals top notch. Best fish and chips ever! When we were prepping the Moho ready to leave the owner came to say goodbye and hope to see you again. Such service and lovely people x

Had a roast dinner today with some friends and can honestly say its one of the best I have had, I had a duo of pork belly and beef brisket it was beautiful, came with side veggies which was also amazing (especially the creamy leeks) and to top it off the roast potatoes, perfection! Will definitely be returning

Arranged a celebration of life (wake) here. The team exceeded our expectations regarding the quality, quantity and variety of the buffet. The Red Lion Team provided an excellent service and were most kind and helpful. So appreciated - thank you

We had a lovely lunch. Roast beef with all the trimming. The pudding was disappointing Eton Mess Sundae. Had no ice cream. A sundae would always have ice-cream in my experience. We were told by a member of staff that it was in a sundae glass. Therefore it's a sundae and there would be no ice cream. £7 for half a sundae glass with merangue, a few strawberries and a bit of cream.

Phoned on the day to reserve a table for 3 adults. Donna took the reservation & when we arrived the table reserved was in a lovely spot (table 2). I couldn’t fault anything, the welcome, the drinks& the lovely food Donna the chef served. We have already reserved for a future return & would highly recommend to anyone considering booking or visiting the restaurant. I would give a 10/10 rating if possible. Thank you again for the fabulous food & service we will see you soon. Martin & family.

This a mixed review that, for me, scores high on the food but not for the service received. So firstly, the negative, we arrived about 5 minutes before our reservation time. We were greeted by a very polite and welcoming person and shown to our table. Our drinks order was taken and delivered to our table within 10 minutes of being seated. However, we then sat for an hour waiting for our food. No mention of any delays in the kitchen were given. I decided to ask where our food was and said that we had been waiting for a long time. The server went to ask, and about 5 mins later, our food came out. Now the positive, my meal was fantastic and I thoroughly enjoyed it so would give it a solid 10. My husband felt the portion of meat he received on his plate was a bit 'stingy so he rated his a 7. I know people would think 'oh well it was worth waiting for' it was, but I just don't feel waiting an hour for your meal is acceptable. The restaurant was not particularly busy. The staff were very apologetic and polite but I would question whether or not I return there unless the speed of service had improved. We also asked for the bill but ended up going to the bar to pay where we found all the staff just standing behind the bar, so this was a bit frustrating.

An excellent Sunday lunch, very tasty veg and gravy also a good helping of meat. Staff polite and friendly. Price at £15 worth every penny. I certainly will visit again.

Oh dear! I had booked a table for 10 ladies and although I had not been to the pub before, seeing all the online reviews felt quite confident all would ok. That was not the case. No-one acknowledged our arrival so I had to get a member of staff to come and take our order, she then came back to tell us 3 of the dishes were unavailable, 1 of which was on the specials board. I was told when I booked there might be a bit of a wait as there is only a small kitchen, I didn't expect that wait to be 1 hour! When the meals did arrive the fish was very overcooked with some of the batter too crisp to eat. Only vanilla ice cream on offer, and the chocolate brownie sundae came as a brownie on a plate. The menu in the pub was very different from that shown on line.We paid separately at the counter which I had agreed with a staff member at the beginning of the evening, however I'm not sure why 2 ladies who had the exact same meal - fish and chips and ice cream - were charged 2 different prices! All the staff were very pleasant and apologetic for the delay, but I did feel inexperience played a part in the problem.
