Did a last minute booking on a Sunday, welcomed with a smile and shown to table. The Sunday roasts were really good and the kids enjoyed their meals. First time here but certainly won't be the last

This is a cozy pub with some of the friendliest staff I have met at a Pub in a long time. We went back twice in 24 hours and everyone was lovely, the food was tasty, and even though it was busy you still felt you were in your own cozy space.

Mid way stop for our walking group. Staff were really friendly and there was an excellent choice of food and beers.

Had the beef burger and it was perfection – juicy, flavour-packed, and beautifully put together. Finished with the sticky toffee pudding, which was rich, indulgent, and absolutely unforgettable. Friendly service and a great vibe. Can’t wait to come back!

We just had a family lunch, nine of us in all including kids. It was busier than expected for noon on a grey Tuesday. The food was delicious, friendly service, and a good choice of beers too. Everyone had a great time. Thank you Queen's Head.

I have most recently had two lamb Sunday roast lunches and they have been spot on. It’s the only place where I don’t have to ask for more gravy ?
It was my birthday last Sunday and I do like the mushrooms stuffed with cheese and bacon but this was not on the menu. Spoke to the chef and he did them for me, nice touch.
Finally I would like to mention Freya, a lovely smiley young lady who is such a nice person looked after us well. Great pub, great people and great food. Well done team.

My wife wanted the salmon risotto, but on the menu, it mentions that it comes with Prawns.as Prawns really upset her tummy she asked the staff to check if the Prawns could be left out of the risotto.
The chef refused to do that despite several attempts by us to explain that the only time my wife gets tummy upset is when she actually eats them. Being in the same kitchen or even laying next to the salmon is perfectly fine, and we asked the staff to go back and tell the chef the chef refused again to cook it.
On the menu was another salmon dish with no prawns, so she ordered that only to be told that the chef also refused to cook that. Needless to say, at this stage we had had enough and refused to eat there. We won't be eating there again.
A note to management. Please educate your Brazilian chef regarding the difference between allergy, intolerance and Someone who just gets a tummy upset if they eat shellfish.
On a plus note, the young lady behind the bar was lovely and apologised to us as we were leaving.

Absolutely love this pub, we had Sunday Lunch there last week. It was the first time my mum had agreed to come out since my dad died, and this fabulous place surpassed all our hoped and expectations. The food was just gorgeous, the staff were lovely and the ambiance was fantastic. Will definitely be back!!

From the first smell of gorgeous food when walking in, to the roast on my plate, this little gem is fantastic. Great staff and a cozy place. Not cheap but where is these days? Good quality food and dessert portions were very good.
