“Excellent food fresh and well cooked. Nice presentation. We went three nights. Extremely dog friendly with a bowl and water and treats. Friendly staff. We had the burger, extremely tasty especially the burger jam. Local ales were nice. I had sea bass, cooked to perfection. Chicken pie and mash was very tasty. Rack of ribs was delicious falling off the bone. Beef curry was very nice.”

“What a super lunch! I had the venison and it was delicious - perfectly cooked, loved the roasted beetroot and the dauphinoise. My wife had the Confit Duck which was also excellent - as I stole quite a few tastes!! The treacle tart was particularly good - quite light, not too sweet and balanced beautifully with the honey and ginger ice cream. Brilliant lunch! - will be back soon.”

“Very easy to book online. Excellent menu with all the pub favourites. Traditional pub atmosphere in doors. Friendly welcome by the staff. Waiter service to the table which we liked. Food was tasty and reasonably priced. Interesting sustainability project in the garden with a hydroponic greenhouse where they grow their own produce which tasted fabulous.”

“For and service was top draw. Only two girls serving due to conditions out of their control on a BH Weekend. They were great and coped so, so we'll with some, frankly, privileged customers. These girls need a bonusFood was good as well. Next time we are local, we will goThis pub is also great as a base for a circular walk.”

“Under new management we thought we'd pop in to see what changes had been made. The team were very friendly and hospitable. Unfortunately for us our favourite cornish beer and cider are no longer on draught (one of the main reasons we personally liked picking this venue.) With that being said they still had a great range of drinks to choose from. Opted for a light bite style lunch, my friend had nachos and I chose the bacon brie baguette. The nachos were big enough for a main course or a snack sharer and the cheese had been layered through the dish. Exactly what you want rather than a bowl of crisps with cheese on top. The bacon brie baguette came out and was more than enough to satiate my hunger. I'll definitely still visit the Fighting cocks, unfortunately maybe not as frequently (because of the rattler.) A definite place to go if you're local/in the area though.Parking: Big plot of gravel next to the venue”

“Popped in for lunch over the summer and had a great lunch outdoors. Ham eggs and chips was excellent. Went back today for the early bird lunch and again had really good service, a lovely pint and great food.”
